A week after former Texas A&M linebacker Jason Glenn was named the head coach at Klein Oak, another Houston-area school has hired a former Aggie player to lead its program.
The Woodlands College Park was in need of a new head coach after Richard Carson, the only coach the school had known since opening, retired after the season.
On Monday, Lonnie Madison was named to the new head coach of the program, per Matt Stepp of Texas Football.
Like Glenn, Madison was a member of the 1997 signing class at A&M, hailing from The Woodlands High School. He began his career as a defensive end before eventually moving to tight end.
Madison has served as the defensive coordinator at Klein Collins for a number of seasons, leading one of the top defenses in the Houston area. He now joins Glenn, Ed Pustejovsky (Cy-Fair), Craig Stump (Atascocita), Ronald Patton (Cy Lakes) and Oschlor Flemming (Fulshear) as former A&M players in Greater Houston head coaching positions.
