For our first day game, 12th Man TV will operate at 100 percent brightness (rather than the 30 and 10 percent power we used for the night games), so on with the show.

Often, somebody will write with a concern about the concrete track around Kyle Field. Well, we have found a surface after a long search that has the anti-bacteria elements required by the health department, given our circumstances with horses using the track. It costs $400,000 that we don't have in the current budget.

If you want to help us generate the funds to obtain a surface to cover the concrete, we can move on it quickly, this season even. Please let me know if you want to help on this cause, and we'll direct you to the right people. Again, the direct method for contact is Feedback@athletics.tamu.edu.

Finally! :gig:

Several requests have come in asking for us to post on our Web site the videos played before and during football games on 12th Man TV. We are going to keep those exclusive for our fans attending the games during the season. After the season, we will discuss various possibilities for distributing them or making them available on line.

Sounds good

Indoor practice building and big-screen updates, briefly: the weekend of October 6-8 is huge on our construction calendar, because with the football team on the road the cranes can move in and “fly” the building on the south end of the project. That's a construction term that basically means the cranes will lift up and set down the main pieces and a building will take shape. Projected finish time is December for that building containing a football field. The north building of the project comes later, featuring both football and track and field, will be completed sometime after the football season. A webcam will be showing the scene live on www.AggieAthletics.com very soon.

December is also the time line on starting construction of the new wing added onto Reed Arena. Meanwhile, the new video and scoreboard and ribbon boards in Reed are coming together as preseason practice approaches in mid-October.

There will no place in the country as wild and wooly as Kyle Field on Saturday.

Wooly? What does that mean?
