This is some interesting data in this article about what would happen if a coach never punted, regardless of the score or field position. There is some other funny unrelated stuff later in the article too.

I've thought about that before too...I think some situations you'd have to punt...4th and more than 6 in your own territory. Other situations would be better off going for it

this also made me think of another situation....

3rd and 4...first team offense is stopped for no gain...punting situation. First team offense runs off the field. Opponents first team defense runs off the field and brings on the punt return team. Offense brings in the second string and very quickly snaps the ball and runs a play to convert the first down against the opponents punt return team.

If nothing else, the defense would have to call a timeout. I can think of a few ways you could disguise this trick into doing some very cool things

Lol...... Change the cleats on Ty Branyon & make him wear soccer cleats... have him look down the whole time & have him go threw kicking motions & then snap the ball & run a play!!!!!! Lol.....

I've never thought of that. I think that would definitely work, at least a few times.

By the way at the end of the article they have an NFL cheerleader of the week. This week it belongs to this girl:
