View Full Version : Reggie still making bad choices

I'm sure most of you have heard by now, but in case you haven't--Odell Thurman was arrested last night for DWI. Thurman is already serving a 4 game suspension for violating the league's substance abuse policy. Well, one of the two teammates in the car with Thurman was Reggie McNeal. Granted, the other two guys weren't cited for any violations, but you would think that a guy that is trying to make a team & get some PT would make wiser choices as to who he hangs out with.

Yeah don't hang out with the best defender on the team

Yeah, the best defender on the team who is a drug user & a drunk driver. Real smart.

And you don't know what he tested positive for. You can get a "positive" if you miss or skip a test as well. Which you would assume means he's using but he could also just be a dumbass and miss it.

I believe you Pinche, but out of curiosity where is the link? I went to ESPN and it says two other players identity not given. Went to one bengal board and I saw one poster suggest it was Reggie's SUV, but he had no link confirming it. Just wondering where you read this.

He wasn't cited for anything, but...
This is a stretch. Yeah, it's awful for Reggie to be hanging out with a veteran teammate. It would be much better for him to be a loner, oh wait....
Before you'll know it, his "poor leadership" at QB will give the Bengals the worst passing defense in the nation and make their special teams suck.

Lance Armstrong has never tested positive for anything except badass-ity. The French love to make unsubstatiated accusations, but that's it. You can think anything you want, but it remains a fact that Lance has NEVER tested positive.

Pinche is right on this one, he made a bad choice just being in that situation. Sometimes you gotta use your head, and in this case Reggie did not! It is crappy that sometimes "guilty by association" holds true but that is the way it is. I think if you make the kind of money these players make, it is little to ask for them to behave in a becoming manner!

Lance never tested positive because he never got a bad batch of hiding agents ala Floyd Landis.
Too many folks that I ride with feel as I do.
Explain why the Postal Team Captain Frankie Andrieau recently admitted he was using EPO during the 1999 TDF campaign.

It doesn't matter what someone claims or what anyone else admits. The fact remains that Lance has never tested positive. He has been tested and proven that he has the largest lung and heart capacity of any athlete ever tested.

And FLoyd Landis didn't test positive before the positive test or the stages after the positive test. So who is wrong here? I know a guy who raced at the elite professional level in Europe. They all do it. Quit drinking the yellow koolaid.

If Thurman blew a .17 and was driving b/c Henry and Reggie were more drunk than he was, WOW. Nice work Reggie. Way to show your coach that you deserve to get a shot.

True, but to be suspended 4 games for violating the NFL's SAP you have to fail or miss 3 tests. Its not like dude F-ed up one time. Put Thurman in the same boat as Ricky Williams. And then go ahead & ask yourself why someone who wasn't doing the same things would be hanging around that guy. There wasn't a single one of us that thought Tarrell Brown & Tyrell Gatewood weren't high when they got pulled over with weed in the car. Why is it any different when the shoe is on the other foot?
And Loftin, no one ever said Reggie was a loner. It was said that he created division within the team. Perhaps by making dumb choices, not thinking wisely, & putting himself first. Like hanging around a guy who has failed 3 drug tests & letting said guy drive your new vehicle when he was 3 times the legal limit. Dude isn't 18 or 19 anymore. Grow up & start acting like a man.

I heard Rome talking about that to day. "The only thing that was misunderstood was all the words that were coming out of the 3 of you guys' drunk mouths."

Reggie's response was to a question about why Thurman was driving his car. Explain to me how that makes sense?
Reporter: Loftin, why did you let your drunk friend drive your car, thus risking your life and the lives of other people?
Loftin: It was all a misunderstanding.
I thought Reggie had already been let go by the Bengals?

He was signed to the practice squad, but was later upgraded to the roster.

So he got let go then signed back to the practice squad then upgraded to back on the team?
That sounds strange. Oh well I would expect nothing less from a guy that pussed out on playing in the biggest game of his college career last year aginst Texas.

He was never let go. He was "cut" and signed to the practice squad, but that doesn't mean that he was ever off the team. They had to "cut" him since he was not going to make the opening day roster. Same thing happened to Jason Carter with the Vikings.

Ah that makes more sense. So what does a player on the practice squad make? Just wondering.

Practice squad: Each team can place five players on this squad, and they are eligible only to practice. These players are paid $4,350 a week and are free agents. Teams routinely sign players from other teams' practice squads in order to complete their 45-man active rosters when they lose players due to injury or release them due to poor performance.
