Not unless they can get a "do-over" and re-aquire Shaq. Kobe is overrated.

Although I heard that the Lakers are interested in trying to take Yao as a FA after next season. Leslie Alexander better not let that happen if he knows what's good for him though...

I think he's risking his legend here. He's got 9 championships, and I for one will argue, it wasn't so much him but the talent. I probably could've won at least 6 with my limited coaching knowledge...

He won 6 with Michael Jordan. Michael Jordan leaves for 2 years, the Bulls don't win. Come back - they win. He's the reason they won. Shaq and Kobe...he wins 3 more. Shaq leaves, the Lakers suck. How does he expect to take the same team and compete against the big men in the West?

Phil is an awesome coach. The problem with the Lakers is Kobe Bryant though. He has amazing talent physically but, mentally hes a little bitch. Hes the reason the Lakers imploded this year and hes the reason they won't do anything decent until a new star is brought to LA.
