Where to begin...

I went to my parents' house in Sugar Land this morning to get my new cell phone. I leave their house at 2 PM, just to make sure that I have enough time to get to the game early. At some point between Katy and Tomball, 290 was COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN. There were ZERO lanes and we were detoured through what had to be the biggest neighborhood I've ever seen(Fairfield). It took me THREE HOURS to go FIVE MILES.

Then, I finally get to B/CS and pick my roommate and tickets up at my apartment(about 7 o'clock at this point). I go to the mall, where I ride the free shuttle every game. Despite the fact that they advertise shuttle service during the game, there was no shuttle to be seen. So, I drive to the University and find the closest free parking spot available (in a park more than 1 mile away from the stadium). So I make the long walk to Kyle Field and finally get in the stadium(to give you an idea how late I am, the kickoff to begin the 2nd half was in progress as I walked down the aisle to my seat).

Sure enough, there are people in my seats. When I showed them my tickets and asked for my seat, they smiled at everyone around them like they were just appeasing a jerk. I'm sorry, but if you steal a seat, YOU are the jerk.

I finally get to see a dominate second half. I saw maybe 5-7 minutes of action with our starters. Although I enjoyed the outcome of the game, this was by far the least enjoyable gameday experience I've ever had a Kyle Field.

yep, i was coming from baytown (east of houston) and left at 1pm to drive to College Station. I made it to the parking lot at about 5:45pm. thankfully i got a parking permit and I made it to my seats inthe Zone right before the players got on the field.

very good game. was really impressed.

unfortunately i had to go back out to the parking lot in the 3rd quarter because i lost my car keys. found them in the bed of my truck. thankfully they were still there.

You had a better night than we did.

Even if you'd been carjacked on the way home.

Even if you found out someone had broken into your apartment and stolen your stuff.

I bet you will never again fail to have a secondary route again.

It wouldn't have mattered. The feeder was closed too. I really had nowhere to go. Once I saw the traffic jam, it was too late.

The area where I parked looked extremely unsafe. I did feel a little relieved that my car was not broken into.

I'm sorry but this wasn't a bad gameday experience at Kyle. Sounds like you had a bad time on the way to Kyle.

Good point SA!

If anybody saw the jumbo-tron and the guy who squeezed the ladies face next to him, that would be me. Only 67,000 ppl saw it I told her. She wasn't sure if she wanted to kick my ass or just turn red. I've never seen a Mexican turn so red in my life!!!

You're right. Once I had my seat, things started getting better for me.

You should have gone to the 12th man lot right across from the West Garage. Right beside the tunnel, was open and plenty of parking by the time you got there. The guy that has the seats next to mine was in the same traffic. He got there right after you...I parked in the $10 lot right behind that and was by far the best tailgate/parking lot I've ever had...

I don't have the money to pay for parking. I think I had about $3 cash in my wallet. That's why I normally park at the mall and ride a shuttle.

I was right there with you. I left Sugar Land at 1:30 and got to the Southside Parking Garage at 6:30. I was so ticked off. At least I had my 12th Man on Campus magazine to keep me company for a while, and the game was being broadcast on the radio.

Also all the lots by the Vet School are free to park in for the game and that's not too bad of a walk to Kyle.
