The only real excuse for ever giving up your ring was those students who left theirs at the Bonfire site. Those pictures still bring tears to my eyes.

Back when they let women into the corps, which was a really bad idea, many 'Old Ags' threw their diplomas away.
There was this one loser of a wag named Melanie Zentgraff who sued the Corps commandant, the Corps commander and the President of the University because she wasn't selected to be the first woman Ross Volunteer. This was in the late 70's. When she walked across the stage to get her diploma, the President refused to shake her hand.

NOW THAT's what you call

GOOD BULL!!!

TAMU also has the right to take your ring from you if you do anything to disgrace the University's name. This is because the school pays for part of every student's ring.

Why exactly is that good bull? You know, Booze, woman are even allowed to vote now in this country. And a very select few are allowed to have jobs outside of the house. Hell, I even saw one the other day & she spoke to me without asking her husband for permission.

It's a well known fact that when you allow women into an all male organization like the Corps, you have to lower the standards for them to even come close to being equals.

Women can do whatever they want, infact i'd vote for a woman president, just not Hillary, but they should NEVER be allowed to wear boots.

Well thank you. If you call sticking by your beliefs and values closed minded, then i'm close minded. I'm a traditionalist, always have been, always will be. Most old ags feel the same as I do.

You know when I realized that I was an old ag? I was at Lake Bryan for the mountain bike race and I was walking back to the truck after the race. My cousin who was a junior in the corps at the time, his girlfriend, and his roommate were walking with me. His roommate asked me, "So what was it like back in ol'army days." I immediately stopped in my tracks. I had never heard this asked of me before, and it made me bristle. I looked at him and said, "ol' army is back in the 40's and 50's."

My cousin the replyed to me, "Well, the 80's is ol'army to us."

For the first time in my life I felt old.:(

I would have to agree with Dustin.... My wife & I are both SSgts in the Air Force & she is one of the most profesional people I have ever met... she passes her Fitness Test in the top 85% even after having our 1st child & for her (fitness) Age Group........ She is always at the top of the list for anyone who needs something done in her Squadron.

While most women physically can not do "SOME" of the things men can do, that does not always equal having to lower standards.

I am sure there are things that women can do besides give birth that us men can't do.

Well I can think of two off the top of my head.

1. make me feel guilty for not picking up my underwear.
2. make me pick up my underwear.

The thing I don't get is how he doesn't think you're a "real Aggie" unless you wore a uniform (which really chaps my hide) but doesn't want women in the Corps...makes no sense at all

I'm old, and that's how I believe. You folks need to relax. If you really think i'm that crotchity you need to chill. We have a couple of youngsters were I work and I say that too them just to get them all riled up. Don't be so serious.

My sister is an Aggie, and is married to an Aggie, and all her kids are Aggies.

In fact several years ago when they had bonfire, she got in the face of a bunch of enviormental wackos who were protesting bonfire. The funny part was her husband egging her on.

Again folks, you need to chill out. :gig:
