Is the new rule to help speed up the game clock a trial and error rule? Or will it be a fixture in college football for seasons to come??? Any thoughts

Is there any point behind the rule other than to speed up games??? Why would you want to speed up a game?? It lets me escape reality longer.

Coaches will complain about enough that it will be changed. Look for something along the lines of the NFL clock rules next season.

Just leave the damn rules alone. College football is about all that is left of the original football rules.

I agree with Slotback. If they wouldn't stop the clock at all on first downs and have clock rules like the NFL that would help speed up the games. I just think the new rules take too much away from the game itself.

College Football's rules are changed every year. Suprisingly, 100% of the people on the committee who make these rules are coaches. I don't know if he still is, but Tommy Tuberville was head of the committee that made the rules for the 2005 season.

Yeah, and they slept on this one...guess they didn't realize what was being proposed or the type of effect it would have on the games....

Who was complaining about the games being too long anyway?
