Player of the week
Tennessee WR Robert Meachem caught five passes for 182 yards and two touchdowns in he stunning 35-18 win over California.
1. RB Adrian Peterson, Jr. Oklahoma
Ran 24 times for 139 yards and a touchdown and caught one pass for 69 yards and a touchdown in the 24-17 win over UAB.
2. LB Patrick Willis, Sr. Ole Miss
Made 12 tackles, one tackle for loss and recovered a fumble in the win over Memphis.
3. QB Troy Smith, Sr. Ohio State
Completed 18 of 25 passes for 297 yards and three touchdowns in the win over Northern Illinois.
4. RB Steve Slaton, Soph. West Virginia
Ran 33 times for 203 yards and two touchdowns in the 42-10 win over Marshall.
