Has anyone played around with the new IE version 7? Just wondering before I decided if I want to download it or not.

Its ok. Not long after I installed it I ended up having to reformat my hard drive due to an unknown issue.

Being able to have multiple sites open on the same page as well as the built in search bar looks pretty nice. I think I'll download it and try it out. I'll set up a restore point just in case it screws something up.

I might try it out now that it's not a beta anymore.

Yeah, it took them how long to add something that firefox has had forever. Tabed browsing is awesome.

IE 7 is nice so far. Its alot better than IE 6. The one problem that I have found in the last hour is that I could not access the Aggies All Access site to see Fran's press conference b/c it "requires IE 6." I guess CSTV hasn't done anything to make their site accessible for the new version.

which is why you use Opera

In my opinion yes.
Ask Jag about Opera. IE7 will be really good once its fully released and will take over my browser but my for now opera and IE7 split time. Firefox isn't bad per se, it just has major flaws in how it operates and can causes major slow downs sometimes
Firefox stole alot of ideas from opera. Opera actually has alot of stuff written compactly in the code so there is no need for plugins

I use opera personally but it doesnt work with a few sites like firefox (the aggiefans radio does not fully work). But Its a much smaller footprint (system resources wise) than firefox (firefox gets really crappy when you have 20 tabs open and I always have atleast 15 tabs open)

Try this program. It's a pdf viewer that I found, and have used for awhile. You know how Adobe takes oh, about a day to open some pdf files it seems? Well, this program usually takes a few seconds.

Microsoft officially released IE 7 yesterday. You can download it free on Microsoft's website. It is no longer just a beta version.

Nice. Now I wonder how many people here will download it, and watch it kill all our web based apps. Thankfully, most of our users aren't setup as admins on their PCs.

Now we just need CSTV to get their website up to speed so that it accepts IE7.

its funny because at work they use groupwise for email and the web client doesnt work well at all with ie7 so they are getting some calls about it already.
personally thats what you get from running crappy groupwise... ;)

It's coming as an automatic update in November. If that's going to be a problem with existing apps, you might want to look into blocking it with a tool provided through MSDN.

Yeah, I got an email on the other day from CSTV saying not to download IE7 if you want access. They were a little late on that email. I downloaded it last week. It didn't say when they'd update it. It wasn't in the near future.

I read the same email dre.... and to me thats one of the lamest things ever.
Instead of making their stuff work better with more browsers they just say dont get the latest version of IE. And thats not even mentioning they dont work with opera or firefox. Just pure laziness on cstv's part.
