SC head baseball coach Ray Tanner has withdrawn his name from consideration for the vacant head coaching position at Texas A&M.
In a statement released by the University of South Carolina Athletics, Tanner said "It is a tremendous compliment to our program that another school would be interested."
As of late last week, Tanner was believed to be one of two candidates for the A&M job, the other, Georgia Tech coach Danny Hall. Texas A&M was believed to be throwing out a sizeable offer to its coaching prospects, a package of around a half million dollars. Tanner has a contract here that carries him through the 2010 season, with pay and benefits currently between $300,000 and $400,000.

Now it becomes even more interesting. I wonder if Bianco at Ole Miss is on the list.

I am not that high on Blanco from OM.
IMO, he hasn't done that great a job at OM except for this year.
