AHH!! My xbox is modded with a 130 GB HDD, so i have all games on HDD and best of all a PSX and PS2 emulator, not to mention NES SNES and N64, so it is a bada$$. I wouldnt trade it for anything. The only way i get aa 360 is when they stop making NCAA for xbox.

I'm a Playstation guy as well. Mainly because of Gran Turismo. I've been playing NCAA 07 every night in anticipation of the start of the season!!

Me too. Then I'll have to wait till I have $800 to buy the system, an extra controller, and a game or two.

Hell, its a game system and a blue ray player. Blue ray players are $1000 by themselves.

Right, but how many of you have TV's that will even do the blue ray justice?

I do :) then again hd-dvd is better than bluray anyways.

Yes it is. Good thing you are an xbox fan. 360 in HD is amazing!!!

I have a buddy that has a 42" plasma with HD DishNet.

I thought HD-DVD was still just 1080i, where bluray is 1080p. I could be wrong though. And doesn't bluray have a higher storage capacity than HD-DVD?

Either way, we're quickly approaching the point where the human eye won't be able to tell the difference anyway. And besides, I was scared ****less seeing Terry Bradshaw in high def in the Super Bowl a couple of years ago. I'm not sure I want to see some people in any better picture!

hd-dvd is 1080p on the disc but the player out now is only 1080i and actually the bluray player is also 1080i (its a marketing ploy by samsung in that the upconversion is done internally but the signal is 1080i because it uses the same decoding chip as the hd-dvd players its just hd-dvd is letting the tv do the upconversion). both will have 1080p in the future.

As far a capacity bluray has a better capacity per layer but the only hd-dvd's out now are dual layer for a total of 30 gig discs and blurays are only single layer and are 25 gigs. Eventually bluray will get 50 gigs dual layer but they are likely to be very expensive. And all of the retail moves in the stores right now are 25 gig bluray and 30 gig hd-dvd. The way I see it happening is only a select few movies will ever be 50 gig (atleast in the next 5-10 yrs) and keep the 50 gig discs "criterion collection" like and charge more for higher quality.

the thing that really makes hd-dvd more appealing is they forced their partners to do some things (like requiring that all movies be mpeg4/vc1 encoded and all players must be able to do the enhanced menuing system (the bluray players will not be ready until middle of mext year that can do the bd-j enchanced stuff so you can imagine how pissed off people getting the player now will be) as well as ethernet port). Bluray has all of those in the spec but its not required so most of their partners arent doing them.

Who cares? I just want to play the games.

There's no guarantee that Blue-Ray will go mainstream anyway. VHS tapes remained the #1 medium for movies long after Laserdisc faded away. DVD should survive Blue-Ray and PSP movies.

I won it at my company's user conference. Actually, one of our customers won it.

We played blackjack for chips and those chips got translated into raffle tickets. he didn't have any chips and i turned 20,000 into about 120,000 in a little over an hour and a half. I gave mine to him and he ended up winning the grand prize.

I went over to congratulate him (because we're not supposed to win anyways) and he gave it to me (practically forced it on me). :gig:

Thanks Jag. I don't keep up with technology as much as I should, especially since I'm in IT! :)

NCAA07 on 360 in HD is very nice..graphics are very smooth and detailed. Tend to agree that gameplay may be better on PS2 (based on NCAA 06).
