I just heard that Texas is going with McCoy at starting QB. NO WAY they win a national title with a freshman QB. Their defense will be salty, but I call it even between them and OU (without bomar Pyle). I think we will kick their ass as well. It will be nice to see how McCoy holds up against Ohio State.:wow:

its definately going to be an interesting year... they will still have a decent O because of their running ability but a freshman qb is going to make alot of mistakes because of inexperince.... the question is will they do enough damage to make a loss (against north texas no but with osu looming they probably will)

i think the biggest difference between tu this year and ou from last year is that texas will still have a good offensive line.

McCoy is s redshirt fish so he has been in the system for a year. From what I have seen they are going to use a lot of shotgun to give him extra time to make his reads. The O-line will still be top notch. They may not be as explosive as they were last year but they will still be tough.

Shag no offense but you've gotta quit getting your info from mail pigeons.

I agree with most of everything said; however, think back a minute...Texas almost lost to stillwater A&M, Ohio state, USC, and The Aggies. The o-line did well, but Vince Young pretty much single handedly won those particular games...Without Young to rescue them the O-line and Def. might not be enough....at least I hope not!!!

Young did not help in the win over us. That was his worst game of the season.

It was Texas' worst game of the season...and I disagree that young did not have a strong hand in their performance. Even playing badly he still performed better than a fr eshman.:gig:

yes he did, but i still think it was his worst game of the season.

If you ask Stepehn McGee why we lost to tu, he'll tell you it was because of his two turnovers. No heming or hawing or making excuses. Takes the blame and promises to do better.
God I can't wait until Saturday!

It's not like it was freshman dropsies. McGee fumbled three times because his offensive line couldn't pass protect for crap.

You know, Oklahoma State didn't score at all in the second half of last year's game. Maybe that had something to do with why they lost.
As far as Ohio State, people forget that for all Vince did in that game, he also turned the ball over with a couple of picks. Set up OSU pretty well.
They didn't convert.
Vince was a great player. One of the greatest things about him was his ability to make his mistakes meaningless. But that doesn't mean he didn't make mistakes.
And USC? What can I say? We needed our best player to beat one of the best teams in CF history? Damn, we're screwed this year.
As for you guys, Vince didn't play as bad that game as everyone thinks, but he wasn't why we won.
We'll see what happens with Colt. The kid may make FR mistakes. But he's supposedly a really heady kid. We've got playmakers all over the offense. All he has to do is get the ball to them.
And, maybe we won't win a national title, but I can sure think of worse things in the world than not repeating.

Or he had a badarse defense that made his occassional mistake meaningless. It will also make most of Colts mistakes meaningless. The season will go based on how well Colt acclamates to the offense and how the staff tailors the offense to his skills

I agree but McGee wouldn't use that as an excuse. That's what I love about the kid.

Vince might have won most of those, but he didn't do anything against A&M..... A&M lost because we were forced to punt 2 more times than tu was..... That was the difference in that game....
Vince did nothing against us...:gig:
Vince against A&M
Rushing 11 carries 19 yards rushing:gig:
Passing 13 completions 24 attempts 1 INT 162 yds passing:gig:
He was part of only 1 of tu's points unless your gonna count handing the ball off......
Vince was a bad mofo... but I can't alllow him to get credit for any tu win over us....
Yeah I know it might not matter to some & a "L" is an "L", but despite that.... He had nothing to do with that game except choking....
I credit that loss on T+1 to the tu Defense for making 2 more stops than we did & Charles & Taylor stepping up for them. Coupled with a blocked punt.

I guess that means that Vince wasn't our whole team (good for us) and considering our D is almost all back that's bad for you. :)

You mean that D that gave up 277 yds rushing to us :gig: and barely out played our defense that ya'll are so quick to cut down cause of their play last year..... are you talking about that same tu defense that allowed a Freshman QB to rush for over 100 yds on them?:gig: That same defense that got pounded on by our 2nd, 3rd & 4th string running backs after our 1st string RB got hurt early? That Defense... hmmmm..... way to get a good come back.... SCORE ANOTHER ONE FOR THE SIPS!!!! http://www.aggiefans.com/forums/images/icons/icon13.gif

Remember this is what I said... only 2 more stops than us.... Never said they were a good unit..... I only said they forced 2 more punts than we did... And with Torbush as our Defensive Coordinator I wouldn't pound your chest too hard for out coaching Torbush on only 2 drives????
That's like being proud of scoring higher than Vince on the wonderlick(probably miss spelled it) test. Hey I scored an 8!!!!! WOOO WHOO!!!!!!!

I think we got an INT too, but we'll just see how good ya'll are this year. (Us too) I hope ya'll win a bunch of games before we play. Makes the game worth a little more.
