Question and maybe you should address this. I helped run a website for awhile about sports and our biggest problem was the pay info that people would bring to it. What's your policy on it? Essentially (sp?) if you pay for a service or information it has then become your possession. Therefore you would assume that you could do what you want with this information. Eventually that info will be leaked somewhere so why should you care if it's leaked on your board. My policy was "no copy and paste" and to paraphrase it a little and I'd leave it.

Didn't know this place was here. So what do you say? I'd really appreciate it if you'd make a forum rules or something so that I'd make sure I only push the lines not cross.

Is there like a 2 day waiting period for an explanation?

Sit back and chill man...Let the site owners run the site and address needs as they go. You sound like you're trying to run the place

1. to learn how to do things with vbulletin read here.... http://www.aggiefans.com/forums/faq.php
2. The only rule that matters is no posting full blown nudity or "personal attacks" (against a fan base, coach/player or other posters). As far as moving threads if you view the forum home you can get a pretty good idea of what belongs where (Aggie Football is for Aggie Football stuff). This thread is for any problems with the site (which this thread is). Its always been more of an unstated rule.

I didn't respond after I moved it because I wanted Vly, the owner, to respond first.

Also we will be doing the rules much better in a few days but we arent doing anything new until monday or so but one of the additions of vbulletin 3.6 is the "infraction" system.
Basically its works alot like the soccer yellow/red card system but we assign rules to a certain point level to each infraction and a expire time. If you accumulate a set number of points before they expire your posting abilities are removed. Right now the cutoff is at 100 points and these are the infractions (rules)
Rule ------------- point value --- expire time
Spammed Advertisements 10 10 Days
Excessive Language 10 5 Days
Personal Attack (Fan) 15 10 Days
Posting Unacceptable Pictures 15 10 Days
Personal Attack (Player or Coach) 15 10 Days
Posting Blatant Unaccpetable Pictures (nudity) 30 10 Days

its the unacceptable... blatant unacceptable is posting worse (and has a higher point value)
wait so there will be no personal attacks like the infamous "jackass of your section" threads?
our definition is a bit different and will be clarified (as best as we can atleast) before we start using this system. That said we never really did those threads last season.... it was always texags little thing (like we do the hotties here where texags more or less bans them).

So y'all are like a half and half between aggieresistance and texags.

yeah.... we think of it as "the best of both worlds" ;) (texags is too nazi-ish and resistance is too austin hippieville-ish)
all wrapped up in the best forum system out there (well the most popular by a landslide)

The rule, as I've mentioned in other threads is as follows:
My opinion/thought is once it becomes public knowledge or posted in any free forum it's fair game (don't quote or steal content) but you can offer opinions and the gist. I did that a while ago with a premium rivals article that was posted in the Texags recruiting forum.
If it has not been leaked and the only way to know of it is to pay, then please do not share it. It takes money away from the source (and we don't want that).

Ok I'm not trying to be an ass. Say my friend who has a pay membership with rivals tells me lots of stuff. It's a verbal transaction. Does that make it public knowledge? Or what if I find out straight from the source? Then it's not public knowledge but not from pay info. How do you verify where the info came from?
Vlyrock

No, it's not public knowledge. If you post it on the internet then it must have come from a public source on the internet. If he tells you verbally, then feel free to call who you want, but don't post it here.
