For what it's worth, if anyone here cares....

Today it was announced that our Tailback has been suspended pending the outcome of his legal problems. Apparently his exgirlfriend has a restraining order against him. Supposedly he also kicked down her door and stole some stuff.

Also, today it was announced that our AD is stepping down at the end of the year.

So, that makes 6 dismissed, 1 suspended, and 1 AD so far this year. Pretty sure the AD thing didn't have anything to do with the coach (sounds like he was feuding with the Pres), but goodness.

Just thought someone would appreciate an update, I'm sure I'll get a few "so what?" posts too...

No so what here. It's interesting and I appreciate you keeping us informed. If you don't know...you can't have a true opinion on anything -- and if you try, you're just ignorant -- so let me know all you can.

I'm sure you've read about our 2 dismissals today. Sucks for us, but we're hoping somebody can step in and fill those holes.

For the RB's sake, I hope he gets his act straight. You hate to see off the field choices ruin a person's shot at being good or great.

Man Structural that a lot of changes. Was this guy the starter? As Aggies we can sympathize with the player attrition, we've had our fair share lately. So what's the status of the tailback position, depth wise.

If this guy was the backup last year, he is crazy. With Morency gone he could have had his shot, now he'll just be another coulda been unless he is aquitted.

Yeah -- he was going to be our starting tailback easily this year. He was a work horse. I think we are really young at the position otherwise. From what I remember we were recruiting really strong in our running game the last few years. Some said we were even trying to get our "Tailback U" status back that Barry Sanders and Thurman Thomas started.

I'm still wearing the orange colored glasses, so I still have the blind confidence, but I'm getting more and more apprehensive.

TW-OSU's Shaw is suspended
OSU's Shaw is suspended

Oklahoma State football coach Mike Gundy said on Monday that he has suspended Seymore Shaw from the team.

Whether the senior tailback is reinstated or dismissed depends on the outcome of an ongoing legal matter, Gundy said.

Since January, Gundy has dismissed six players from the team, all for unspecified violations of team policies.

Last month, a protective order was filed against Shaw in Payne County District Court. According to court documents, he forced his way through the door of a former girlfriend's Stillwater home on May 13.

According to Payne County District Court documents, the 23-year-old Shaw has been charged with two felony offenses -- first-degree burglary and larceny. He also is charged with a pair of misdemeanor offenses -- domestic abuse and malicious injury to property.

Shaw is accused of pushing the woman to the floor and striking her, and also of destroying picture frames. He allegedly stole a pair of Nike Air Jordan shoes and four custom chrome wheels.

First-degree burglary is punishable by imprisonment for as many as 20 years. Shaw entered a plea of not guilty and faces a July 11 court date.

The former girlfriend, according to court documents, alleged that Shaw has caused or attempted to cause serious physical harm to her, and has threatened, harassed and stalked her. Before arriving at OSU four years ago, Shaw was charged with misdemeanor assault and battery for allegedly striking a former girlfriend in Shawnee.

In three seasons at OSU, the 5-foot-11, 215-pound Shaw has rushed for 1,243 yards (5.5 per attempt) and nine touchdowns. He did not participate in spring scrimmages because of a sore knee.

Absolutely necessary by Gundy, Poke. Everyone in the program needs to understand who the boss is.

Oh -- I'm not disagreeing with what he did. It is just that particular suspension hurts. Personally, I hope he keeps suspending kids that screw up like this.
