Georgia Tech and South Carolina both granted A&M permission to speak with their coach after their respective teams have been eliminated from the tournament.
Arkansas has denied A&M permission.Arkansas’ Dave Van Horn ended his third year with the Razorbacks by losing to Texas, 5-2, in the Austin Regional championship on Monday afternoon. Van Horn came from Nebraska, where he was hired by Byrne.
“ I talked to Dave and he said he wasn’t interested,” Broyles told The Morning News of Northwest Arkansas after Monday’s game. “He was happy. Somebody, I don’t know who it was, had already contacted him several times while we were still playing. But since he told me he was happy and not interested, I decided not to even give them permission to talk.
“ There was no reason to.”
The coaches A&M can contact are Tech's Danny Hall and South Carolina's Ray Tanner.
