I figured this could be a fun distraction while we eagerly anticipate football season.

Most talented: Reggie
Toughest, most determined: Bucky
Winning: Pullig
Overall has got to be Kevin Murray, though.

Gotta go with Bucky. The man could just plain take the team on his back and find a way to win.

Hope our "new" #7 also finds a way :gig:

I still haven't voted. I know Bucky was the sentimental favorite with everyone, but in overall greatness I'm torn between McNeal and Murray. I wait a day and vote for whichever of the two of them has the least votes.

Bucky was the best. Most gifted was Reggie. Most complete will be McGee.

Gotta define greatness. Are you talking about success on the field, leadership, fan favorite???

but in overall greatness I'm torn between McNeal and Murray.
I am not sure I can compare the two. Murray brought A&M from nothing to become a winner. I am not sure what McNeal did overall (except win against OU) but I know he did not make us a winner. Therefore, between those 2, Murray will have to be my choice.
As a whole, I have no idea but I think I would have to go with either Murray or Bucky in the past 25 years (both did geat things for their teams). I don't know a lot of history beyond those years so I can't honestly vote for the best alltime.

Kevin Murray ushered in the "Decade of Dominance" with spectacular passing under Jackie Sherrill. He wasn't much of a runner, but from the clips I've seen he could really thread the needle to find a receiver.
Reggie McNeal is without a doubt the most athletically gifted Aggie QB ever, the all-time leading Aggie passer, and the second most prolific rusher at QB(behind Bucky). He had to play at a time when our defense and special teams, unfortunately, were at all-time lows.

The arguement I always make with greatness is how a player is able to transend themselves above the level of competition. There is no doubt in my mind that Reggie is a better QB than Bucky but he was in no way greater.
Babe Ruth may be the greatest baseball player of all time because he dominated HIS competion at a greater level not seen from since, but I would consider almost every good player in the game today a better player than him.
With that said, I would have to go with Bucky because he elevated himself beyond the competition and found a way to win. He wasn't the best, he wasn't the most talented, but because he was able to play beyond his capabilities more so than anyone else on the list, I would consider him the greatest.

But this is which was the greatest qb, not who had the most potential.

Keep in mid all I've seen are tapes of most of these guys, and have not seen all. I'd say Pullig was the best from what I've seen

Kubiak was probably the best qb I ever saw. Mike Moseley was another great one. But then again, these guys suffered from being here under the Wilson regime.

You guys left off David Shipman. Got us closest to the national championship in the mid 70's

Shipman was tough. So was Mike Jay. But then again, you had to be tough to be a wishbone qb. Bucky Richardson would have been the perfect qb for Emory Bellard.

Murray and Bucky were amazing...
