Goes a little bit deeper than that. It has been a rough day lately in huskerland.
They lose there starting Cornerback to an ACL injury.
Backup QB is not coming back which leaves no experience behind Zac Taylor.
Alexs Maric-starting center for Nebraska also on the Australian National Basketball team says he isnt coming back.
Plus uncertainty of other basketball players coming back.
Personally I wish they would have looked a little more at Coach Hobbs who is at George Washington. But I guess they needed some positive news today.

You are not kidding on that last statement. Byrne in my opinion was a class act and even though more directly focused on football he at least expressed his opinion and got things done. Kind of shows you a little bit that A&M hires Gillespie and that Nebraska hires Gillespies assistant.
I am for the hire.....he has connections to Junior Colleges and state of Texas....lets face it if Nebraska brings up 1 great Basketball player every 4 years it is a miracle. Matt Hill went to Texas....so it will be a while.
