The Rockets moved to fill their void in the backcourt on Friday with a deal to acquire shooting guard Kirk Snyder from the New Orleans/Oklahoma City Hornets.
The Rockets did not have to give up a player to add Snyder, sending cash and future draft considerations — likely no more than switching second-round draft positions — to the Hornets.

He's a very young and athletic prospect at SG (which is one of our weaker positions). He might even play some minutes at SF when T-Mac needs a breather. Not a bigtime acquisition, but he should contribute.

The Rockets could be in the Western Conference Finals next season or be the 11th team in the West, it all depends on McGrady and Yao staying healthy.

Since I'm a Hornets fan, I'll fill you in. Kirk Snyder was a big role player for the Hornets this year that eventually became a starter.

He's got a good shot (the article says around 45% on shooting) -- He wasn't a big points scorer because of his limited minutes, but he was a great role player and could be counted on to do what was needed to do.

Based on Vly's comments, he sounds like a good fit for Houston. They need some more role players for Yao and T-Mac.
