Yet another texags meltdown

edit... its back now. (still kinda funny they have so many "transactions" that it would cause the log file to fill up... which are usually errors)

basically they didnt do maintenence properly so the log file filled up. (and once it does it completly takes down the webserver).

That and since they run a custom coded forum they have alot more to log where vbulletin is much more optimized. It all relates to downtime. Since I have found the company we will probably be moving to when we upgrade so I have been doing uptime on the current one, texags and the new one.

Over the past 30 days:
Texags has had 59 mins of downtime and an average response time of 603 ms (a little over half a second)
AggieFans has had 34 mins of downtime and an average response time of 1300 ms
Softlayer (the new one) has had 5 mins of downtime and an average response time of 304 ms

So the new one will be much faster (being located in dallas vs arizona).

to be fair the way the sensor works it only will show downtime when the server is offline so the log file issue wont show up as downtime.

Are you kidding me?? The general board on texags is downright embarrasing. I absolutly hate affiliating that board with A&M. Just go there and look at the topics and find one even remotely interesting. The general board at hornfans beats that one hands down in terms of interesting and intelligent and (and more importantly actual funny threads) and that sucks to say, believe me. I think I could find a more interesting thread at a deaf and dumb forum.

The only boards I like at Texags are Entertainment and new The Health and Fitness one but they are really slow. The football boards kind have lost me as well.

Trust me, I give everything and everyone I see the benefit of the doubt, way more then most people, and as someone who has been on texags since almost day one (literally) I can say that it turned to major suckage. In fact, there is an article on the front page saying how they have like 60,000 visitors but what it should be about is how 60000 people ran that board to the ground.

Seriously, I would say just get rid of the general board but then that would mean a bunch of retards who don't know anything about anything coming to the entertainment board. Or God help us, here.

From what I have seen... the only thing they have that I like is their Photo's of the Sporting Events..... even that is kind of 1/2 @$$....They don't have pics of each game consistently.... but the quality & quantity of their pics are nice... other than that..... I really don't like their page at all....... so that is what 1 item out of the several hundred things that a Quality Page can provide for you? Hmmmmmmm..........
