Bonds deserves whatever he gets and more. Baseball's record book is forever tainted by him and McGwire.

There was a great pic of a bunch of them holding up little asterisk signs.
But I can't find it now.

Unfortunately, he's got too many home games coming up. I'd hate to see him get a standing ovation for this. This moment truly should be marred forever for him.

I think it's ridiculous how big of a deal this is being made.
First of all -- he'll be second (not first)....he did what was not illegal at the time in the sport. He has never tested positive since testing started. Any baseball player currently could have done it. Should all the ERA's and HR's and RBI's be thrown out since 1970?

There is no proof (or any evidence that would even suggest it for that matter) that any of them did anything. There is proof that Bonds did. Whether it was legal in baseball or not is not the point. If nothing else, he should be locked up...then he wouldn't have the opportunity to pass Ruth.

Nobody gave McGwire a hard time about Andro when he was breaking the home run record. It made the headlines for a week then went away. After Bonds passes it, I'm sure the signs and heckling will go away...
I just find it funny that everybody is getting worked up that he'll finish second in career home-runs....heck if you're going to make a big deal about 2nd place, make a big deal about him being in 3rd now.

He almost hit #514 in the 5th inning tonight, but it was caught at the wall by the Cubs outfielder

Huh? Uh, steroids have been illegal for a very, very long time. The fact that there wasn't a specific rule addressed to steroids is meaningless. If you're breaking myriad federal and state laws to play the game, I'm pretty sure the MLB rules have addressed that.
He has never tested positive since testing started.
He hit most of his HRs on his steroid binge before testing started.

If there was as much evidence against them as there is Bonds, yes.

I'm just disappointed that Bonds will pass Ruth and possibly Aaron, because he is such a pr*ck.

Dusty Baker walked him in the 1st inning today with no one out. Didn't The Lizard coach for the Giants before he took over with the Cubs?

I'm just saying, they didn't test for it. Any player who could've taken them without detection (and there are probably hundreds that did).
He hit most of his HRs on his steroid binge before testing started.
He had his best HR seasons this year. He was rumored to have started near the '98 season (I think). He hit 73 like 3 years ago...that's over 10% of his 713. I would say that a large amount (I know not all) have come since steroid testing was put into place.
If there was as much evidence against them as there is Bonds, yes. There isn't evidence against Bonds yet. Simply allegations and rumors. Once the evidence comes to light, he will be dealt with. If MLB had evidence, they'd have banned him already (or suspended)...they started the whole investigation to try and dig stuff up -- yet he's still playing. At least with McGwire, they confirmed he was taking Andro -- and they banned it afterwards.

#1. Andro is not considered a controlled substance in this country. Anabolic steriods are.
#2. The steroid era in baseball began with Jose Canseco in '86--the same year Bonds entered the bigs. Granted, no one will say that Bonds was on the juice then, but he started getting bigger once he joined the Giants. He has hit 537 of his 713 HRs as a SF Giant.
#3. Bonds admitted to using steroids, but claimed he didn't know what they were. Whether you believe him or not, he still used a substance that is illegal in this country. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=1937594
The guy is a fraud & it will be a sad day in baseball & all of sports when he surpasses the greatest baseball icon ever.
I found this article to be pretty funny & interesting.
