Just announced on the radio recently, MJ is stepping down.
He was great for the University and did well. It's sad he's leaving on a down note, but I'm glad his last game at Kyle was a win over the #3 'sips and in such great fashion.
Good luck MJ with whatever you do next. Thanks for what you've done!

Holy Crap!
Thank you MJ for giving us a bunch of good years. Also, thank you for realizing the situation and stepping down. You just gave the Aggies a chance to revitalize themselves.

That's a nice way of finding a positive in a negative situation Vly. Great coach, class act, and a fine representative of our beloved university. I'm glad he stepped down and this didn't have to get ugly. Good luck to MJ and thanks for all the memories, we've had plenty to cheer about under his tenure.

Okay, after reading Polish's link, it seem he was terminated. Maybe the radio guys were being nice. At least it was swift and there wasn't time for it to get real ugly. Again, best of luck to him.

You're not a retard, A&M played it's home baseball games at Kyle Field until 1977.

Here's an article from DMN:
http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcontent/dws/spt/colleges/texasam/stories/052405dnspoaggiesbaseball.2a20a8a5f.htmlJohnson, the winningest baseball coach in school history, was 876-433-3 in 21 seasons with two College World Series berths. But A&M has missed the NCAAs four of six years.
"I respect and admire Mark for his character, and he has always represented Texas A&M with a great deal of class and integrity," athletic director Bill Byrne said in a statement. "However, our baseball program did not meet our expectations, and I feel we need a change in direction.""I am as disappointed with the outcome of this season as anyone," Johnson said. "We played a tremendous number of close games and never could relax and play to the full potential I thought we had. I am not disappointed in the effort my players put forth throughout the year. One constant was their ability to come out each game and give everything they had."
You really have to wonder what it's like to be a baseball player right now. Do you feel bad because you didn't play as well as you know you could...and that possibly cost him his job? I would feel bad if the result of my play cost somebody their job.

Thank you for your time and for stepping down.
A&M has the talent to make it consistently to the post-season and needs another head at the helm of the team.
