So I'm working an overtime shift right now (my sixth in a row by the way. I get off at midnight and I can't f&cking wait. Work sucks!)
Anyway, one of the probationary FF who was detailed here has tourettes Syndrone. Every couple of seconds he goes, "Whooo!" real loud. If he concentrates really hard he can go for maybe a minute or two without doing it but then he just explodes with a bunch of "Whoooooos!" We had a fire (false) earlier and on the way he went nuts. I think when he's excited he gets worse.
Anyway, at first I was really creeped out but as the day went on I got use to it. Actually he is a hell of a nice guy and at dinner today he said a silent prayer before he eat. We watched a movie around 6 and he didn't watch with us which made me feel bad.
Very interesting. I did some research on Tourettes today on the internet and it is pretty interesting. He's fairly young (22) so I think as he gets older it may go away. We are really cool at my station so we just ignore the Tourettes and he manages but there are 50 stations in town and ALOT of dickhead *******s firefighters who are going to aggitate him me unmercifulless.
So that is my story today.
EDIT: We call him Beeper by the way.
