I can't believe it only has 306-horsepower.

Its actually 325. The 306hp was the shelby in 1966.

I thought this thread was going to be about Shelby Metcalf.

But when it's horsepower to wieght ratio is as high as it is, that sucker is fast.:wow:
The new GT500 has 475 HP.......my lawd.

Eh, I rather have the 505HP corvette Z06 or even the 400HP regular vette.
Reason 1:
Shelby GT350: 3950llbs / 325HP = 12.154
Shelby GT500: 3950lbs / 475HP = 8.316
3950lbs is heavy. Almost a 2 ton car!
Base Corvette: 3130lbs / 400HP = 7.825
Corvette Z06: 3130lbs / 505HP = 6.198
Reason 2:
The average person can't tell the difference of a poser $19k Mustang dressed up like a shelby to a real $46k Shelby, but a vette is a vette.
Reason 3:
I'm not a fan of stock superchargers.

Oh, don't get me wrong. I wouldn't be caught dead in a Ford. GIve me the Vette Z06 anyday of the week. Plus I was talking about the old Shelbys with the 306 HP. Those had a hell of a power to weight ratio. Sorry, should have clarified that.
Speaking of bad arse cars, a new 2006 black Viper convertible pulled up next to me at the light today in San Marcos. That thing was sweet.

I read this thinking it was going to be about metcalf...then read it and realized it wasn't. Then every other time I saw the thread title I thought it was about metcalf again. And now I realize its not again.
