Michigan State and Air Force have pulled out of future football series with Texas A&M, athletic director Bill Byrne said.
The Aggies were set to play Michigan State in 2010 and '11 and Air Force in 2008 and '09. The series with Miami in 2007 and '08 is still on, Byrne said.

I read on TexAgs that Fran made a comment about how he expects Miami to pull out of their series with us.
So why are all these teams cancelling on us? Does this mean we're doomed to Div. I-AA opponents in non-conference for the rest of the decade?

I don't mind losing those two games that much. I know it is a long shot but I would still like to play Miami.

I would've liked to see us play Michigan State...

Team officials for Michigan State and Air Force discussed the potential series with their players but quickly backed out of the games. Team officials stated that numerous players from Michigan State's secondary had voiced concerns of being scared ****less of McGee and his Aggie Receivers.
Not surprising. . .

It was announced at the Talk at the Bright Building (I went). Just said they pulled out. Actually, that was the only piece of good info given at the whole thing

So is there any hope of us getting good nonconference opponents in the next 10 years?
I'd like to see us play one good team and no I-AA teams in non-conference every year.

We're most likely going to play at least one 1-AA team since they count towards bowl eligibility. It's a definite gimme and a good opportunity to get 3rd and 4th string guys in.

Actually, you can only count it towards bowl eligibility every other year.

Naw, I agree with the rule. Div. IAA wins are a guarantee anyway, and a waste of time. I wish the NCAA would ban IA teams from playing IAA teams.

I wasn't saying "F the BCS" b/c of their I-AA rule. I actually like that one. I was saying screw the BCS for making it better for teams to play cupcake schedules instead of hard non conference games.

No, I read in the paper that they have changed it with the move to 12 games. Now 1AA wins count every year. But I don't know if you can count two 1AA games each year, so I assume just one per year.
