Opening Day, Predictions for the Season

open for discussion. i would not put any money on these predictions, just thought i would open the table up for discussion since it is Opening Day for MLB

AL East - Red Sox, will end Yankees streak of 7 straight east titles
AL Central - Chicago, smell a repeat
AL West - Angels, not sure anyone in the west can hang with them
Wild Card Winner - Yankees, too much talent in one clubhouse to not make the playoffs

NL East - Atlanta, Bobby Cox is the man
NL Central - Cardinals, if Edmonds and Rollen stay healthy
NL West - anyone could win it but the Rockies, will go with the Dodgers
Wild Card Winner - Astros, will probably give cards a run for their money, even without Roger Clemens

AL Pennant Winner - Chicago, only got better with the addition of Thome
NL Pennant Winner - Cardinals, Edmonds and Rollen have to be healthy to give Pujols some support. Pitching still looks great.

World Series Winner - Chicago White Sox Repeat

I honestly think this year the Mets will push ATL off their division win streak.

well, since gagne is going to have surgery today, i guess that the dodgers are out of the race in the nl west. and since the season is only a few days old, i would like to change my prediction for the nl west winners to be the young, up and coming fathers of san diego.
