How's this for a scenario? (how likely is it?)

I've heard that labor negotiations may disrupt the NBA Season early next year. What if AW never signed an Agent, got drafted, but then came to play for the Ags until the NBA worked out their problems. (I saw this on an OSU sight talking about their freshman recruit).

I know the odds of it happening are rare, but what if? Would BG take him...or would he just leave him off so he doesn't mess with chemistry, etc?

Don't you love off-season banter and guessing?

I think you take him, but only if he commits to the full year with you.

Another interesting question is
Assume Team A gets the #1 pick.
Then the whole season is missed
Does Team A get the #1 pick again or is it an all inclusive lottery.

Is he eligible to if he gets drafted? We would definitely take him if he was eligible.

If he never hires an agent and never takes money, he is eligible under NCAA terms (as far as I understand them)

He wouldn't be eligible. All underclassmen must withdraw from the draft by June 21st to be eligible next year.

But I thought that was because of the assumption that you've hired an agent and are about to sign a contract for money the following week (the 28th)...

Maybe not...

Dtwon has it right, he has to withdraw by the 21st, agent or not. Once he is drafted, even if he doesn't have an agent, he loses his eligibility. He is in a tight spot, because from what I've heard they will know if there is to be a lockout 9 days later on the 30th. All indications are that the negotations aren't going to peachy. This is why I love college sports, don't have to worry about things like this.

Antoine has an agent now so its official. I can't wait to see him in the NBA next year, I think he'll be a late lottery pick.

Where'd you find that? Do you have a link?

I saw one poster on Texags has mentioned it (that he read it on ESPN insider). Apparently, the article stated the agent that represented whichever athlete it was covering, also represented AW and somebody else.

The basketball board isn't going crazy over it, so I'm not sure if it's actually true or not.

The poster MarcAg mentioned it on Agtimes. He usually has the inside scoop and knows his stuff. So I'm sure it is true, he is gone. Well know my wish is that there is no lockout so we can actually watch him play. Best of luck Antoine.

That sucks...now let's just hope he has success in the NBA because that will do well for recruiting for us.

Well since this seems to be a done deal, my next hope is that the NBA and the players assosciation get there act together and iron out their differences. I truly hope there is not a lockout because that would be horrible for all parties. Guess I'll have a new NBA team to root for, and Vly is absolutley correct, Antoine doing well in the NBA will help our recruiting tremendously. Best of luck to Antoine, we were lucky he took a chance on our program and I'm gald it worked out for everyone.
