TexAgs is the reason it took me weeks to post on here. Like EVERYTHING I said on TexAgs was discredited just because I didn't have 10 billion posts. The thing that was the last straw was when I asked them how you get an AgTag (totally innocent question, right?) and they posted a link to hornsfan. My friend kept telling me it wasn't like that here but he's the same friend who told me about TexAgs so I had to see it for myself first.

Truly am glad that you all like the site:gig: I think Vly has done an excellent job with the site. I agree with Amy on the point of being a rookie over there or a relatively new poster. I think someones knowledge has nothing to do with how many posts you have. As always if you guys/girls have questions or suggestions on how to make the site better let us know. We will listen, promise.:) Sometimes it is tough to get good topics going as there isn't much going on, but we try. Another thing that I think Jag does a great job at, is trying to combine threads on the same subject so we don't have 20 threads on the same thing.

Yeah, this site is much better and I have really grown to respect all the posters here. Much better topics here.... We just need more!

Closer to the start of the season and you'll see more topics.

Still growing...Our 1 year anniversary is April 15th. We'll (hopefully) have 800 members by then. Given that we have no advertising other than word-of-mouth and the occasional link on Texags or Websiders, we're growing rather quickly.
The summer will be rough, but as football season approaches, the posts should pick up. Hopefully, baseball is interesting enough to keep posts going -- and we still have the NFL draft coming up...

it actually starts at the top over there.... i remember listening to one of their podcasts talking about being at one of the basketball games. And they were "making fun" of the dance team (and this guy who was videotaping the dance each time they did one of their dances assuming he was a pedophile).... turned out he was the father to one of the dance team members.

This site is definatly more mature. Vly did a great job creating the site and Jag and 06 do a great job in helping with design, etc. We welcome newcomers and their opinions as it adds to the ever evolving culture of the site. Plus there's just something about getting a straight answer when you ask a question :gig:

Even the dang sips.
They know we have the power to ban.... and said ban actually means something. They cant just register a new account and keep trolling like texags. ;)

Actually, we've sort of partnered with BOFZ...some of those guys post here, and I and others post there. We're both pretty respectful, and both sites were pretty much started with the same reason in mind (not be like Texags or Hornfans).
I think this shows that if we stay civil, then the other fans will stay civil. When you get in a Texags environment, and every other word is a bash on a school or stereotype, then you have nothing but hostile posts and hostile posters.

You will never see such amazing highs and lows on any college fan message board as you will on Texags.
Right now there are folks on the Bball board that are predicting an NC for next year and guaranteeing that there is NO WAY you guys won't finish first in the Big 12.
It's not quite as robust this year as it has been in the past, but you'll see similar stuff on the football board.
There's a real inability to analyze things with any kind of objectivity that leads to sky high expectations. When things go south and your expectations were sky high there's going to be a major letdown and Texags gets it in spades.
I know all fans are prone to this, but I know from my perspective and the perspective of many of my fellow Horns, our optimism is always a bit more tempered.

I judged all Aggies by that site (and it wasn't pretty). Then I found AggieFans and discovered I had made a big mistake. I think there must be a lot of children over there.

Yeah, when I am in the mood for mindless entertainment, I go to TexAgs. How many times can you say "I hate/love Reggie" or "I hate/love Fran?" Their inane debates rage on while intelligent posts (there are some) rarely draw much attention. I'm pretty new here, but I definitely like the feel of this board. Good job, Ags.

The Aggie Football free board is a whipping most times, but part of that is because the better postings are in the Aggies Only / M&W Recruiting forums, along with some good discussions over on Religion, Business, Baseball, etc. forums.
I like AggieFrans, but it doesn't have near the posting volume of TexAgs.

I have never seen the Aggies Only so I wouldn't know.
The only forum I really like over there is the Entertainment one.

I am apart of both boards. I like texags but i dont go to the football board, I mainly stay at the MW recruiting board and the outdoor board. I think you are correct with saying that the football board has a bunch of pissants in it but if you go to the MWR board there are a lot of people that know there stuff. But as far as I think I like both boards.
