I was just wondering if anyone knows if a Blinn student at College Station can get a Texas A&M sports pass.

I wouldn't think so since you have to have your Student ID to get into the Stadium/Arena as well.

If you have friends at A&M there are still ways to get into football games, though.

They should start having sports at the Bryan campus too. They have about 5 times more students.

I dont know how im going to go through college without going to alot of games. especially aggie football and baseball.so what would be the best way for blinn student to go to games

Buy Zone season tickets -- only $220 bucks for all the football games. Basketball, maybe go half and half with somebody for season tickets and split the games evenly....

"I'll give you all 10 non-conference games for the texas game, 10-1, you can't beat that deal!"

I'd rather go to the 10 non-conf games...Texas will be on ESPN for sure. Plus you can road trip to Austin for the other game...
Plus, hopefully, our non-conf schedule will be better next year.

No because you would have to have an A&M student id!!! Trust me I went to blinn for 2 1/2 years and this semester they finally let me in!! Last Semester I bought the season tickets for football 200.00 and just sat with all my buddies!!!

Hurry up and get your 30 hours done and apply to A&M. I took some summer classes @ Blinn when I was going to A&M because they were cheap and easy. Most all Blinn classes transfer over well. Some A&M profs teach classes at Blinndergarden.

You could also do what i do and get a student to give you their SP and pay them. I cant get one cuz im not a student anymore, but i still have my ID. Hopefully they wont start scanning them to see if you are enrolled like they did at basketball games.

08: they stated that tickets will be scanned at Kyle this year so i would say they are moving very close to scanning student ids.

Aggies don't lie, cheat or steal & in a way that is stealing from the university. I understand trying to save money, but thats bad bull!

I've done it. They still get the money, just not quite as much. People complain about the stadium being empty. At least this puts butts in the seats.

Agreed, but it still doesn't make it right...or legal for that matter. Not like I'm going to turn anyone in...no need to...Slot will just read this thread. ;)

I don't have a new id so I can't do it anymore. But I do know someone that will be doing it.... Besides, is it in Slot's jurisdiction?

I don't know if he did or not...some people have jurisdiction in the entire state.

Oh ok. Though he did say something once about how he probably talked to one of the posters before. So that gave a clue on the area where he worked.

I saw that and it worried me a bit, but it also said that they were doing that to speed things up, and i know that when you are trying to get into reed while they are scanning ids it just slows things down a whole lot. I cant see them scanning 20 and 30k ids to let students in.

If I couldn't sit in the student section with my fiance, shes still a student, then i wouldnt buy tickets at all because i would have no one to sit with. so the way i see it the university is making an extra 187 bucks from me. Yes it is wrong , but as mentioned before there are several who do it and it does help to fill the seats, so whats the big deal? What happened to once an aggie always an aggie?
it is however more wrong for people who have never been students to get a friend that looks similar to them and use their TXDL and sports pass together while claiming that they lost their student id in order to use a student ticket. YES THIS WORKS I HAVE WITNESSED IT.

By the way, who the heck is SLOT, and why would it matter if he read the thread or not?
On a side note, as soon as my fiance graduates in 08 we willbe getting season tickets together in the zone somewhere. So as far as im concerned my questionable method only needs to last through two more seasons.

You could still go to the games & sit with your fiance. Just do the right thing & pay for the guest label on the ticket like I did for my now wife before she was a student.

Well, if Aggies don't lie, cheat, or steal, yet you have no problem in doing what you're doing, then technically, that wouldn't make you an Aggie. ;)

What about if you go to Tarleton?
texags08
08-28-2006, 11:57 PM
First off i am not the only one doing it and second i have already said that i know it isnt right, but until it is regulated i will continue to sit in the student section to get my aggie experience, because when i do go back to A&M as a student i will be married, so we will sit in the zone somewhere, even though i could get a sports pass then. My student fees for those three years when i dont get a sports pass, plus the donations to 12th man will be more than enough to make up for the three years i will pay for a sports pass, but not fees.
Im not sure if you guys knew or not, but i DO pay for a sports pass every year, so its not like i am getting in for free.
It would be totally different if i was just getting random sports passes of people who werent going to a game on a certain week and not having to pay a dime for the games.

And this statement is just outrageous. Whether you are one out of a million doing it, or you are the only one doing it, it doesn't change things.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but when I was in school there was something on the ticket stating that the student tickets were only good with a "valid student ID". :D

You’re forgetting the second part of that statement. I have already said that i know it is wrong. I don’t think that the point of this thread was to bash on me for what i chose to do that is wrong.
Let me say this again.
I KNOW IT IS WRONG!!!!! But don’t sit here and bash me, there are several arguments that could be brought up about what is right or wrong, but this is not the thread for that.
I think that this is most closely related to speeding, we all do it and we all know it is wrong. Even if everyone and their mother is flying past you on 290 that still does not give you the right to do it, but I DO. I know there are consequences for being caught, but that is a risk I am willing to take. Just like in speeding, the benefits of my seating outweigh the consequences.
Dustin, you sound like a hypocritical Southern Baptist, I know because i was one for 18 years. I don’t know why you like to get off on bashing me, but whatever floats your boat. I am sure you don't follow the Aggie Honor Code to the letter, and i believe that sins are sins no matter how big or small.
If you do follow the code to the letter then more power to you, but don’t criticize me for it.

First off, I'm just busting your balls a little bit trying to get you to realize exactly what it is that you are doing. I have a buddy who made a stupid mistake doing something that "everyone else was doing" and he ended up in jail for it. Now its on his record for the rest of his life. I'm not singling you out--I know there are a lot of people that do it & I disagree with all of them.
Secondly, if you are going to pay for a sports pass anyway, why not just do it the right way. Again, maybe things have changed, but when I was in school you could get a "guest label" on a student ticket for half the face value of the ticket. And it was really easy to find an unused sports pass even back then, so I'm sure its not hard to find now.
The speeding analogy applies when discussing the law, but not when discussing the Aggie Code of Honor. Speeding is illegal, but it isn't lying, cheating, or stealing.
As far as me following the code of honor, I try my best--meaning I don't continue to do something that I know violates the code. I'm sure I told my wife I wasn't drunk when I really was, but I know I've never cheated or stole anything.
And lastly, I don't think whats right or wrong is the point of any of my post. The biggest problem I have is with you knowing that it is wrong, yet still continuing to do it because others do it.
I'm sorry if you took offence to me not agreeing with you knowingly stealing from The University. I had friends that did it when I was in school & I didn't agree with them doing it either. Don't make the mistake of thinking that I have something against just you, but if you don't want to be ridiculed for doing it, then maybe you shouldn't post your crimes on a message board. Keep in mind this thread had gone a month without a post before you decided to post about your little scheme.

Ok, I think you are sincere in your concerns, but the only reason i went off in that last post was becasue your remarks come off as if you think you are better than others (hence the whole baptist thing). Im not just saying this based on this thread, but others i have read on this site. I wasnt trying to get into a pissing contest over right and wrong. If you look at my join date you will notice that this was one of my first posts, so i was just offering my knowledge to a person asking a question, I didnt realize that it was that old. I would like to think that you are a cool guy, but it is hard when i see sarcastic comments from you everyother post.
I had a friend and former roommate that did that. He would stirr things up and then just laugh it off saying he was joking, but come to find ouot, he was just a DICK. I hope thats not you, but it sure seems that way based on your posts. If you arent that way then I am sorry, but i feel this needed to be said. I respect your opinion and your view on this situation, but i will also respectfuly decline to follow your advice. I understand that your are not here to sinlge me out of all the others.

I'm an extremely sarcastic person. That doesn't make me a DICK! This isn't something that I was just "trying to stir up". Its something that I am very adament about & there is nothing wrong with me letting you know how I feel about it. I try to bring about intelligent conversations that bring about different points of view. I think this thread ended up being one of those. We disagreed, but we still remained civilized & both brought about valid points. What more could you ask for on a message board?
I don't think that I'm better than others at all. Clearly, you haven't read very many of the post. There were a couple of differences in opinion with a poster or two in the last week, but that isn't the norm.
You are grown man & you can make your own decisions. I'm not trying to change that. I'm just using a public forum to express how I feel about it. You have to understand that if you choose to do it, you might catch some flack.

Dustin, i apologize for the comparisons, but i was not calling you a DICK. Per our PM conversations i would say we are cool. Sorry this turned into a crappy thread.
