Aaron Brooks signed a two year contract with the raiders. I guess some of these teams gonna draft a QB and let them sit a year or two. It's not a bad strategy though

Or...VY just fell really far in the draft. If Tenn. drafts Leinart & Oakland feels that Brooks is their guy, VY may fall all the way down to Arizona at #10.

Thats what I was thinking too DustinOOwhoop. The Texans could still fold under the pressure and take him. With Casserly as GM it is not that far of a stretch for him to mess it up.

Look for the Texans to trade down. I think that a team that will move up in the draft, looking for a QB will be the Vikings. Or the Jets.

Supposedly, VY had an incredible workout yesterday for the scouts. I saw some of it on the news and he actually looked decent. He threw 55 passes and completed 51 of them. But, he was not under center and had no pads on. I don't understand why scouts would want to see QB's throw without shoulder pads. They make a huge difference. VY wasn't even throwing like Saberhagen yesterday.

VY's 4.61 40 time looks bad for someone who is supposed to be so fast.

Thats Austin radio for you. National media wasn't impressed at all with his work-out yesterday. He ran slower than they expected. His work-out was in the bubble--a controlled environment. And the passes he threw were scripted, so it wasn't like he was having to think on the fly. Houston news & national media are saying that he didn't hurt himself yesterday, but that he also didn't help himself.

In order for these teams to decide what they will be getting in him, they are all going to have him work-out for them seperately on their terms.

I'm by no means trying to defend VY, but this was not coming from a DJ on the radio, it was coming from scouts that were in the studio that attended the pro day.

Either way, I'm just telling you what guys like Mel Kiper were saying on the airwaves this morning.

But something's up. He's stretching, trotting. Now he's peeling off his T-shirt and shorts down to his tights. Either it's hot in here or he's running the 40.
The clock on Young: 4.61 to 4.57. He's no Reggie McNeal, who ran a 4.38 for the pros. But Gil Brandt calls 4.57 a good time on Texas' slow track, especially with little to no preparation. from Kevin Sherrington, Dallas Morning News

Quarterback Vince Young was timed in 4.58 seconds in the 40-yard dash Wednesday on what is considered a fast track at the University of Texas in Austin, one NFL scout told ESPN's Chris Mortensen. The scout said Young's time was slower than anticipated. obviously from Chris Mortensen, ESPN

so what the hell is it, a fast track or a slow track. from a tu biased ks @dmn, i guess they can blame the slow time to a slow surface and once again, LITTLE PREPARATION.

but from an objective point of view, vy ran a slower than expected 40 time on a widely considered fast surface. since i am an aggie, i will agree with both of them and come to my own conlusion....

it is a fast surface and vy ran a slower than expected time due to a lack of preparation.
