View Full Version : I'm tired of hearing about Holes-in-One

Two people in a foursome had a hole-in-one. The odds of that are happening are 17,000,000:1.

Congrats, but quite frankly, I'm tired of hearing about hole-in-ones from non-professional golfers. What's the point? Maybe since my other job is working at a golf course, I'm not as impressed about hole-in-ones (I have to fake enthusiasm when people come in excited), but since when did they become national news? This is like the second article dealing with multiple hole-in-ones in the same group. Obviously, it happening twice in the same month means it probably happens more often than 17,000,000:1.

I don't mind hearing them in the local newspaper or extreme circumstances (3 people in 1 group or something) but not nationally.

I work at a golf course (and am playing in a tournament tomorrow)...believe it or not though, I still suck horribly at golf.

My two best shots have been
1) Eagle from 187 out at English Turn in Louisiana
2) 2 inches from a Hole in One at the same course

I think the best way to not hear about something ever again is to make a thread about it ;)

Just got back from my golf tournament - sorry to say it, no hole in ones. Did shoot a 59 (-12) for our 4-man scramble team. Not bad considering we left about 3 strokes out there on the green (lipped around but didn't fall).
We barely finished out of third.

Bill Byrne talked about a whole in one in his weekly wednesday
Did you hear about the hole-in-one by one of our senior associate athletic directors, Jeff Schmahl? Jeff heads up external operations – everything that touches you on the outside of our department – and he's quite a serious golfer whose management duties include both of our golf teams. We know he couldn't fib about his shot. After all, it happened in the Fellowship of Christian Athletes fundraiser. And, of course, there's the Aggie Code of Honor….
