OSU's Monds misses practice; doubtful for A&M

By JIMMIE TRAMEL World Sports Writer

Oklahoma State forward David Monds returned from a knee injury to play eight minutes in a road loss at Missouri, but he did not practice Monday.

Coach Eddie Sutton, during his weekly radio show, said Monds wouldn't practice Tuesday. That casts Monds' availability in doubt for a Wednesday home game against Texas A&M.

"I don't know how much David will get to play Wednesday," associate head coach and head coach designate Sean Sutton said.

"I don't think Murph (trainer and strength coach Murphy Grant) is completely sure when he is going to be 100 percent."

Monds was in the starting lineup before suffering a bone bruise in a Dec. 28 loss at Alabama-Birmingham. He missed two games before returning to duty in a Big 12 opener at Missouri.

I don't know anything about him. Is he any good?

I don't know, but if he was originally a starter, he must be decent.

Anything that gives us an advantage up there. Stillwater is a tough place to win.

Monds has been pretty good this year. Not the defensive guy that Dove is/was, but he somehow found his shot over the summer. Should be a good game -- I'll be there, but won't be able to yell... stupid cold...

I have a stupid class tonight, so won't get to watch this game. I'll be able to catch a little of the second half (i get out at 9:30).... Go Aggies...BTHO OSU!

So, if we win this one, will we get a shot at the Top 25?

of course not

Monds being out hurts simply because he's a big body. He's not overly tall, but he's a wide body. He's basically an effort guy.

OSU will be playing with 9 scholarship players tonight including four true freshmen.

Active OSU roster for tonight

Eaton - Freshman
Harris - Freshman
Flemmings - Freshman
Cooper - Freshman
Curry - Sophomore
Brown - Junior
Johnson - Junior
Boggan - Junior
Pettway - Senior

Well, we need Joseph Jones to have a good night tonight (our big guy). He had a horrible game against Tech and somehow we still won. I can only imagine how good we'd have been if he played well (or at all). He sat out with foul trouble most of the game.

He certainly did play well.
