The Auburn Tigers5-2 (Both losses on the road)South Eastern ConferenceTheir most notable win was a 31 pt win over Temple, however the also lost by 37 at Pittsburgh.
One would not be overly stretching to make comparisons between the Auburn Tigers and ourselves. They had several bad years which resulted in the firing of their old coach and subsequent hiring of the new one. They surprised people last year by not finishing last in the conference and finished of the year by signing an impressive class. With four players graduating and others leaving for various reasons they lost 7 players off of their '04-'05 roster. They filled all seven slots and five of those seven players have seen considerable minutes with a sixth starting to play this week.
The heart of this team looks like Ronny Lamelle. In their game against Pitt he was 10 for 12 including 4 for 4 from beyond the arc, however the rest of the team shot 21% from the floor. In games where his teammates help him out they've been successful.

This team is going to try to mix up defenses in order to confuse us, which means they will alternate from being dominated by Joseph Jones and dominated by Acie Law, Josh Carter, and company. Here's the roster:

Definite Starters:
#33 Ronny Lamelle- 6’5 Senior Guard from Harrisburg, PA. He’s 24 years old. One of two players that has started all seven games. 52% 3pt shooter but doesn’t get to the line that much only 7 FT Attempts all season. He leads the team in points per game with 13.1 and has been the leading scorer in all but one game. He received a medical redshirt after being injured in the fourth game of last season.
#23 Quantez Robertson Freshman guard from Cincy. In high school he led Laurinburg to a 40-0 record and the national prep school championship. He's the other player to start all seven games. He’s a 42% 3 pt shooter and leads the team in FT attempts. He has 25 more assists than anyone else on the team with 39 on the season. He’s tied for the team lead in steals and averages 7.3 points per game.

Possible Starters and bench players:
#03 Josh Dollard – Freshman forward 6’7 from Hemingway, SC. He’s second to Barber in rebounds. He’s tied with Quantes for the team lead in steals and is second on the team in total points.
#01 Frank Tolbert – Sophomore Guard from River Falls Alabama. He played at Red Level high school where he once broke a backboard by dunking a rebound. He was voted the teams “sixth man” last season. His major is electrical engineering. FIFTY-FIVE percent free throw shooter. Good rebounder but he leads the team with 22 turnovers. He’s third on the team with 8.5 points per game.
#32 Korvotney Barber- 6’7 Freshman forward from Manchester, GA. He was the Gatorade player of the year in Georgia. He’s the second McDonald’s All American in Auburn history. At 7 for 22 at the line he’s a 32 percent free throw shooter. He also leads the team with 10 blocks on the season.
#42 Joey Cameron: 6’7 Freshman forward from Birmingham, Alabama. Played at the same high school as Charles Barkley. He was named to the “Super 5” by the Alabama Sportswriters Association. Not many stats on this guy as he’s sort of come on lately. He has ten turnovers and seems to be a pretty good shooter from inside. He seems to be a really strong defensive rebounder.
#21 Rasheem Barrett- 6’5 Freshman Guard from Atlanta. He’s an “education, sports management, and recreation” major. started one game, 40% from outside (10 for 25) averaging 18 minutes per game but it seems the coach likes bringing him off the bench. 14 assists on the season.
#4 Emanuel Willis: He played 21 minutes against Temple as he finally got his elegibility through the NCAA. He’s a transfer player that had to appeal his release. He’s a transfer from USC. (Trojan Reject). His 21st birthday is also coming up on Saturday so we may have to serenade Trojan man with a rousing rendition of happy birthday.

I can't wait for tomorrow, maybe I'll have a chance to use the new chat room during the game.;) I'm worried about this game, they took Temple to the woodshed, and I don't care what anybody says, despite it being a down year, that is a John Chaney coached team, not just anybody can take them to the woodshed and humilate them like Auburn did. We will need a big time effort to come out on top.

This is a real test for A&M. Auburn is a much better team than penn st. or north texas, two teams we struggled against. We need to play better to beat the tigers. Toughest game of the year so far.

We need Jones and Law to be 100% for this game or we are in trouble. I know they practiced this week, so that is a good sign.

Good point, the fact that they have been out scares the hell out of me. Acie's injury was a freak accident, but it seems like a waste that Jones hurt his ankle in games against teams that don't matter.
