This pisses me off a little. I thought Alan Ashby was a great broadcaster for Houston. Him and Milo made a great team. Now they have decided to let him go and bring in two guys from the minors??? That makes no sense. With Milo only doing home games next year, listening to the Astros in 2006 will be very different.

I don't like this at all. I thought he was one of a few broadcasters who did a real good job. 610 in Houston has had people calling in all day complaining about the move. Maybe Drayton will be pressured into bringing him back.

Even if they asked for him to come back, he wouldn't. If you got fired from your job b/c you were no longer wanted there, and then your boss called you back up and asked you to come back, would you? I sure as hell would not.

Drayton explained what happened, basically Ashby wanted to the guy and they wanted him to stay as sidekick. Well he interviewed and they thought he wasn't the best main guy to replace milo when he retires, and so they went their seperate ways.

So a guy with 25 years experience around MLB that was a damn good color guy is not as good as 2 unproven minor league announcers?

Ashby wasn't great, but he wasn't too over the top as a homer. I liked him though.
