Dude just lost his thumb in team roping. Got it pinned in between the rope & the saddle horn & it completely severed it at the 2nd knuckle. The announcer said, "They did find the thumb though, & he is on his way to the hospital." I generally think of bull riding & saddle bronc as being dangerous to the cowboys, not team roping. Sucks to be that guy.

On a side note, there is a guy from El Campo (my hometown) in the bull riding competition. Clayton Foltyn...go Ricebirds!!!

The same thing happened to a coach when I was in middle school. His finger didn't get severed, but it snapped like a twig. What is remarkable about this, to be in the NFR the guy must have been roping since he was a kid, all these years and this is when he has an accident. Yikes.
