Just got back from the UNT game...

Alright...well...we need some work. This was WAY closer than it should have been. First off...the officiating was horrible! We had several questionable fouls...several offensive fouls that led to points for UNT. But UNT's defense played tough...they also had some key 3 pt. shots.

Joseph Jones had a GREAT game...a career high 35 points! He played tough. The rest of the team needs to pick up the slack offensively. We missed several would-be easy baskets. But a win is a win. They've got a few more non-conference games to work out the kinks. Hopefully BCG will work them into shape for conference play. While we gave up too many 3's...our defense played tough.

Well, with Pacific looming closer, we need to step up the D (less fouls) and find some shooters' touches....Jones had about 65% of the offensive points!

Sounded on the radio like they were blowing whistles for everything. I thought for a while there that the first half was just going to be a free throw contest.

They WERE blowing whistles for just about everything. It was ridiculous! At one point the student section started yelling "whistle happy!! whistle happy!!" Can't say that I've heard that one in a while.

There was one play where Marlon went up for a block but backed off...didn't even touch the guy...and was called for the foul!! You should've heard the front row of the student section...they sounded like they were about to attack the ref. I was in the student section...and the play was at the other end of the court...but it sure didn't look like Marlon layed a hand on the guy. That pretty much describes the way things went with the refs. But even with the crappy calls...I agree that we really need to work on keeping the fouls to a minimum.

I'm glad we got the win tonight. We didn't play our best ball but we stuck it out and got the W. It seems sometimes our shooting goes flat and then we try to force things a bit. Defense was good in spots but we did have some break downs. Hopefully, this all gets worked out before conference play. Great game by JJ tonight and Tellus had a few good minutes. He just needs more playing time and practice, but he looks ok so far.

I agree...it was good to see this team stick it out and get the win. With a team as young as ours...it's good for them to experience games like this one and Penn St. It's great to see enthusiasm surrounding this program. We EXPECT to win now. BCG will get us there.

Not one of out PGs looked competent. We couldn't pass inside. We couldn't create one on one. We have real problems this year
