I'm never drinking again

I am not lying. I don't think I have ever felt this bad in my life. Last night was our Athletic club's annual Christmas party and since I'm on (or alumni) of our basketball and soccer teams I went.

Although it was not a party. It was a free for all, all you can drink, eat, poker, craps, Halo, Monday night Football, leave the wife and girlfriend at home party. I remember looking around going "Is this a Christmas party or a Bachelor party?"

Anyway, last night, drunk off my ass at one of the four craps tables, one guy said, "Guys I need to go home.... It's almost five am and I have to be at work tomrow." That is when I knew I would be a little trouble today.

But......... I just looked in my wallet to see the damage and I have a couple hundred in there. And I know for a fact I walked in there with 80 bucks. You gotta love craps.

Not to mention cleaning up with Seattle last night. I won a two game parlay with San Diego and Seattle plus a pretty good single bet with them. I think they covered thier 4 point spread.

Believe it... Between that and my first wine party last Friday I am done. Why the f*ck didn't someone tell me you can't drink wine like you drink beer? After ten glasses of wine I was pretty freaking rowdy.

Which sucked because it was a couples party and I took the girl I have been going out with for a month and she dumped me after that. And I really liked her because she was only 22 and pretty hot. But they had this really awesome game there..... It really needs it's own thread. So new thread time.

Wade, I am surprised you're still alive. I've gotten trashed on wine before and the hangovers are ALWAYS much worse than with beer or liquor. I think it has something to do with the sulfites in wine. Bleah. Gonna make me gag just thinkin' about it.. *bleah*

Word... That was the worse hangover ever and I usually don't even get hangovers. They mentioned the sulfites at the party. Something like, this is our favorite wine and this is the first day they can sell it and it has less sulfites or something.

The worse thing is I had to work the next day with the worst hangover in my life. The paramedics there gave me an IV. If you are hungover, getting an IV is like a gift from the Gods. Your hangover is gone in 20 minutes.

Wade, what kind of work do you do since you're around paramedics? When I was in the Marine Corps, we used to take several huffs of pure oxygen and that worked wonders for hangovers.. Usually I just chug a bunch of gatorade and eat a banana before I sleep.. replaces electrolytes.. it really helps. As my physiology prof once said, "We do not buy beer, we rent beer." Since alcohol inhibits the release of antidiuretic hormone, in addition to making the nephrons in the kidneys really excited about passing sodium and potassium into the filtrate that becomes urine, replacement of electrolytes is critical.. blah.. and stuff. Not to forget tons of fluids...
