Upset On A&M's Mind
Texas is right where they want to be right now. They're comfortably sitting in 2nd place in the BCS and in the driver's seat of their own desting. If they win, they're in the National Championship, returning to the site of their Rose Bowl victory against Michigan next year. Experts and panelists are all under the same mindset -- it will be USC vs Texas in the Championship. Texas A&M and its football team has something to say about that. "Experts" seem to have forgotten that Texas still has two games to play before their Rose Bowl bid...one at Kyle Field (one of the toughest venues to play at for an opposing team and the other in the Big XII Championship where Mack Brown is 0-1.
A&M's season has been somewhat disappointing. Okay, it's been very disappointing. But many things can be salvaged with a win over Texas Friday. For one, all our seniors will go out as winners -- having won their last game at Kyle against #2 Texas. Two, A&M will go to a bowl game. Three, and maybe just as importantly, A&M would keep Texas out of the National Championship game. Ask any Aggie football player and they'll tell you they like the way that sounds.
The teams square off at 11:00 AM Friday and the Aggies are looking to prove they've still got some fight left in them. Longhorn fans plan to bring roses to the game to throw on the field after their win....Aggiefans.com would love nothing more than to see thousands of Texas fans walk the long walk back to their car, with their roses in hand.
