I don't watch NASCAR, and to be honest I don't know much about it. However, I will say this, NASCAR is huge in MD, I don't get the fascination with it but people follow it religiously. I think its the same way in the Carolina's.

I don't watch it much, but sometimes when I'm flipping through, I'll watch it for a little bit. I don't understand how people could pay to go see the cars race around in circles, but on tv, at least you get close ups and "commentary".

I have to be in the right mood to watch it, but even then, I can't watch it for longer than 30 minutes.
