Bowl Hopes Getting Slimmer
This weekend Texas A&M travels to Lubbock to try and turn around a season that seems to be headed in the wrong direction. They also look to end a decade long streak of not having won in Lubbock. Coming off an embarrasing 42-14 loss at home to Iowa State, the Aggies need this game to right the ship. Another blowout loss could spell disaster as Oklahoma and Texas are the remaining teams left on the Texas A&M schedule. A&M needs just one win in the last 3 to achieve the minimum required wins for a bowl game (6).
The matchup seems comical on paper. Tech's spread passing game looks to explode for huge numbers against an A&M secondary that's allowed nearly every opponent to amass huge amounts of passing yards. Why would this weekend be any different? Oddsmakers seem to think Tech will only win by 17. That's less than many casual fans think going into this weekend's game. However, those oddsmakers recall that a much better Tech team was defeated at Kyle Field versus Texas A&M last year. So can A&M's defense finally step up against the pass? Only time will tell.
Tune into this weekends game which will be shown on Fox SW at 6:00 PM CST...
