Former Texas women's basketball player JoRuth Woods was found dead Sunday in her home in Cedar Hill, according to police.
Cedar Hill police Sgt. Colin Chenault said Woods' death was being investigated as a suicide.
Woods, 25, was a two-time all-state selection at Cedar Hill, helping lead her team to Class 4A title games her junior and senior seasons. Woods was first team SportsDay all-area as a senior.
She played at Texas in 1998-2001 and averaged 9.8 points a game. She played professionally for one season in Austria and for one season in Israel. She returned to Texas in 2003 and became a teacher.
