Hmmm....a good team loses their starting QB and trades for another QB who fits the system better than Simms. I'm glad I have him on fantasy roster now. :p

Wow didn't see that one coming, well I didn't see the Rattay part but kind of figure the Bucs would try and find another Qb, I mean honestly who wants Simms to be your starter.

You do what you have to do. In the Bucs case, they need another QB on their roster.

Rattay and Simms sucks so I wouldn't want either of them.

He'll start this week, but I expect Rattay to establish himself as the starter soon. If Jake Delhomme ever goes down, I now have Rattay and Culpepper as backups for my fantasy team :gig: .

I love the way you guys talk smack about a guy who absolutely owned you.

Yeah.

Chris Simms' career numbers against Texas A&M:

58-102, 57% completion percentage, 929 yards, 6 TDs, 1 INT

Career record of 3-1 against Texas A&M with the only loss coming in his freshman year when he was replaced by Major Applewhite. Texas had the lead when Applewhite entered the game.

Ok but he likes boys, so....... You might add that the last couple years he played us were the final days of RC and the talent gap was so huge that he probably should have owned us.

oh and if i was a texas fan i would be making fun of him too. What did he do for ya'll? oh yeah, only lose a Big 12 championship game when everybody in the world knew that applewhite should've been playing.

Yeah, I don't know what your definition of "absolutely owned" is, but I wouldn't think 130 yards passing 0 TDs & 1 Int in '99 or 138 0 TDs & 0 Ints. in '01 is absolutely owned. He had good games at home against us, with '00 being his best year with 383 yards passing & 3 TDs. He might've owned us in '00, but to say that he "absolutely owned" us in his 4 years against us is going a little overboard. Keep in mind, it was the t-sip faithfull who blamed Chrissy for the '99 loss. Well, actually, y'all blamed us for poisoning The Major & as a result of that Chrissy had to start & thats why y'all lost. :D

Yeah.

What did he do for ya'll?

Career record of 26-6 (.813 winning %). In his two years as "the" starter he led the team to top 10 finishes. UT career record holder for completion percentage (58.7) and pass efficiency rating (138.4). Longhorns single-season record holder for TD passes (26, 2002) and TDs accounted for (30, 2002). Ranks second on career TD passes chart (56) and fourth in completions (535), passing yards (7,097) and total offense (6,960).

He is also one of the guys that is most responsible for Texas being where we currently are. Without him we probably would not have got all of "the big 3," (Roy Williams, BJ Johnson and Sloan Thomas). Mack has a reputation as a great recruiter, but it was Simms who made Texas a "cool" place to go to school in the eyes of many recruits. He led Texas to their first top five finish since 1983 in 2001 and then turned around and led them to only their second top ten finish since 1983 in 2002.

Any Texas "fan" who says bad things about Chris Simms is either an idiot or not really a Texas fan. Chris was a class guy who has always had good things to say about his time at Texas and the Texas program. He was a great leader for our program and one of the main guys in getting Texas back to a position of national prominence.

Yeah, man i was just giving you some ****, well except for the thing about him losing the game for ya'll, b/c he really did. And how can you say he is the reason texas is where they are, when Roy Williams, BJ Johnson, and Sloan Thomas aren't there anymore? What does that have to do with you being where Vince Young has you right now? Say all you want, but I had buddies that were recruited by Mack coming out of high school and they took an official visit to Austin and said Chris Simms was a prick. I don't know the guy personally so i'm not passing judgement on him, but my buddies who were recruits and who ended up going to Air Force and one is in the yankees farm system for baseball now sure didn't like simms that much and that was enough for them to say they weren't gonna go to texas
