Since we are back, what are everyones thoughts? Like Fran and Reggie said, "I don't know". I have no idea what to think. Of this we can all be sure, something is amiss, terribly amiss.
BTW, I haven't been able to get on the site since Friday night, up until a few minutes ago, did some of you get on here yesterday?

Loftin's thoughts:
Reggie isn't the source of our problems, he is actually playing well. It's the rest of the team and coaching staff holding him back.
Javorskie Lane should start, but we should not have him running to the outside on 3rd and 1 when he is a sure thing straight up the middle. That was an awful call by our coaches.
We need Courtney Lewis. Samson Taylor isn't getting the job done.
DeQawn Mobley is a bust. I mean, this guy was hyped as the next Terrance Murphy. No way he plays on Sundays next year. Reggie's favorite receiver has dropped passes all year, but last night's fumble was the last straw.
Our defense is awful. They are very poorly coached.
Do we have 10 offensive plays, total? This coaching staff has little variety and is very predictable.
Coach Fran should be fired. A great football program like Texas A&M should never play this way. It's truly embarrassing.

As much as I'm upset about the way A&M played, I'm also just upset about how Colorado got every break in the first quarter. We fumbled on the touchdown -- bad. We don't field the punt -- downed on the 1.
Colorado came in ready to play and the Aggies didn't. We say Reggie is playing good -- but I didn't see anything yesterday to make me think he was playing good. He hit a lot of the WR's in the hand, but he's throwing high. Half the time they have to jump to even have a chance at it. He also throws it 100 mph, so those timing routes (like outs, etc) probably make it hard to catch the ball. He didn't take off to run except maybe twice and each of those were timid runs.
The defense got smoked on playactions. Bennett was scraping flat against the line, so those naked bootlegs would be easy for Klatt to roll out on. The secondary was actually "on" the receivers this time and once or twice even got their head back. Brock Newton came up and made some shoulder tackles, but I don't expect him to wrap up on Lawrence Vickers...
Overall I was very upset early and I'm thankful that the junk time made the score a little more respectable. Lucky for the Ags they have Oklahoma State, Kansas State and Iowa State coming up.

Defense sucks (I dont even want to give my opinion on this side of the ball)- All coaches realted to the defensive side of the ball should be canned. EVERY SINGLE ONE - NOT JUST TORBUSH
Les koening - canned - we need an oc that has the balls to call something besides an option on third and long
Start McGee against OSU and see what he can do. Screw reggie as QB. He had his chance with the tx state, baylor, and colorado games to solidfy him has a great qb (I dont care what anyone says - coaches didn't tell him to over/under throw wr's, not see the wide open man in many instances, and throw the ball into 4 defenders) He's not a leader and that's hurting our team real bad. If he wants to go to the NFL, he'd better start getting practice as a wr. AND YES I AM SERIOUS ABOUT THIS!!!!
I might be the minority here, but I will be very glad when these seniors graduate. Time to bring in the new guys IMO

Note: I LOVE Aggie football and will do so till I die. Im as redass as they come but I am just extremely frustrated with this coaching staff and inneffective leadership in the ranks. 3 f'in years and we are only getting worse. Add to that, the 2-MILL we are paying the HEAD COACH and we've become the laughing stock of college football. We got screwed on this deal.
I know there are still many games to be played in the season, but even with the eternal optimism that every AG has, not one of us can say that we expect this team to win more than 3 games the rest of the season. If we don't improve any on either side of the ball, expect to be embarrassed even worse than 77-0 when we go to tech and t.u. comes steam-rollin' into town.
At least basketball season is around the corner :)

Econ, I disagree with you about Reggie, and seeing Jason Carter go will hurt this team more than most people think. However, I couldn't agree with you more about coaching changes.

I think people were giving our team too much credit (for the early close wins) we never were any good and this game has shown that to everybody. Sad thing is we have talent to be a very good team but we arent even close to performing.
This team has not come together (and they still can) but it will have to be in the next 2 weeks of we wont have a winning record this year.

something is definitely amiss here in aggieland...kids are not playing up to their potential, no one has a winning attitude (including coaches). There are a lot of reasons why we lost, but there is one thing that is bothering me.
I don't blame reggie's ability, but I am very dissappointed with his leadership/killer instinct. I want him to show me something and I want Fran to show me something. I want to see reggie look upset, determined, something. even when he lead the drive to tie baylor, he didn't look possessed. He just has this hum-drum coach fran attitude. With all his ability, I guess I'm just disappointed in that. Dispite all our struggles and shortcomings, at least if the team looked revved up, we would know they were giving their all.

I've noticed the only time Reggie celebrates is when he breaks off a long run. Doesn't really do it when somebody else does good. I want to see him get out there and high five the D when they come off the field. In fact, I just want somebody to high-five the D when they come off the field. Let them know the team supports them and doesn't think they're the reason we're bad.

Reggie is overrated.

The only guy I see showing leadership and fire is Carter. That guy has a lot of fight in him, but he seems to be the only one. The coaches don't show any emotion at all, which hurts.
I think that the season is going to spiral downwards. Not to the depths of the 2003 campaign, but it will sure feel like it.
I am very frustrated and discouraged. Changes must be made.

Many great points here.
Carter is the best player on our team and the only one who seems to take losing personally.
This year will be better than 2003, but just as disappointing considering that we expected to compete for the Big XII title this year.
"Changes must be made." As in coaching changes...

I think that they should let McGee play against osu this weekend and let Reggie rest his ankle or whatever physically is wrong with him, and maybe send him a message at the same time. I personally feel however that this loss falls more on the shoulders of the coaching staff and their inability to get our team ready to play a game on the road yet in their 3 years stint in Aggieland.
