Stars win 5-4 after going down 4-0 in the 1st period. What a game to start the season!!!!

I missed the game, how was it with the rule changes? Was it better/more exciting to watch on TV like they were hoping?

It was definently a high firing game with the rule changes. A lot of odd man rushes and power plays. It is definently more exciting watching on TV then the years past, I like the new changes the NHL made the defensive game was intriguing to watch but with the offenses firing this year it seems to make for a good year. But to start the season down 4 then fight all the way back to win 5-4 with 5 or so minutes to go was insane.

Hockey is for communists and Canadiens.

Hockey is for communists and Canadiens.

Something along the lines of "Do you believe in Miracles!!!!" seems to disprove that statement.

It was a damn good game. It was really important for us to come back from that huge deficit. Once Zuby got his 2 goals, the kings didn't have a chance in hell. I'm not so sure I like the new changes fully, but I agree it makes it easier for some people to stay interested in the game with the new changes. I was kind of worried the hits wouldn't be the same with all the long passes and open ice, but damn morrow was bringing it along with a lot of the other stars. We'll just have to see how the season plays out, but i'm always ok with 2 points to start the season off

Ya once Zubov got it going it was only a matter of time. I like the new changes really seems to make things flow a lot easier, except when there are a string of penalties which will happen often this year.

U better get used to the penalties. Did you catch razor and however you spell darryl ray's name say the refs are gonna call it like the NFL, go to the net and hope you get a penalty. Sure seemed like it was gonna be like that tonight.

Ya at least they are enforcing the rules, unlike in years before when they claimed to of changed the rules but they were never really enforced.

yeah we'll see how this year plays out, did you see that shot into the corner that almost went in the net? They said that supposedly you can hit the corner now with goals back and make it in. I'm ready to see that **** happen

Keep in mind that "Do you believe in Miracles" was only important because it was the US vs. the USSR, not because it was hockey. The only people that care about hockey besides canadians & communists are those who live in a hockey town with a legitimate chance at Lord Stanley's Cup. No one else cares.

Exactly. I couldn't care less about cycling or soccer, but I love to see USA win over countries that care.

hockey = crap

Sad to see that. Hockey is a fun sport if you give it a chance.

u gotta remember though, they are right. Think about before the stars came to Dallas, we didn't know anything about hockey and didn't give two ****s. But you still live in a town where the hockey team plays and I grew up there, so that's why we like hockey. CHHS is right though, it's really an adicting game when you start watching it.

I've been to a couple of Aeros games, & they were extremely fun. I understand the sport, & understand its difficulty (hell, before you can even consider being good at anything hockey related, you have to be good at ice skating). But you won't see me rushing home from work because there is a hockey game on. Plus, now this crap is taking up time on Sportscenter.

That's why they made ESPN2. Sportscenter would be 100% better if it was just football, basketball and baseball.

I say we ban hockey, soccer, track & field, NASCAR, cycling, eating, figure skating, WNBA, gymnastics and other "sports" from Sportscenter!

I saw the Rangers/Flyers game on OLN. It was obvious that it was the first game they had ever broadcast. All commentators were live for a few seconds before they started talking, graphics looked "almost finished", camera as zoomed too far in (couldn't see the net when the D had the puck at the point). All-in-all it wasn't too bad of a broadcast, but not quite up to the quality of ESPN's. I caught some highlights on sportscenter and they looked a lot better than the OLN broadcast. I think they'll get the bugs worked out soon enough though.

sounded like the Dallas game was a great one to watch. My fantasy team is taking it up the backside though right now...

Actually they could do without the baseball. In fact, they should substitute cycling instead since that's more of a sport.

I agree with all your bannings from Sportscenter. (team USA exempted)

Hockey is indoor soccer on ice with fights,
soccer is stupid to watch on tv,
track and field is like car racing expect humans, they either go really fast for short burst some have burnouts (hamstring pulls) and some do only left turns.
NASCAR is reality tv for rednecks, its not about the racing its about the drivers which is gay, which is why F1 is way cooler
Cycling is for gay firefighters
Eating should be on once a year on the 4th of July
Figure Skating - mens should be banned and women should have to wear bikinis
WNBA - they're not hot enough for bikinis so they need to quit
Gymnastics - They're all like 12 so stop being a dirty old man and turn it off
