On some ADT college coaches spotlight, they were talking about us underachieving so far this year and the guy that talked to coach fran said he said that Rita really messed up the teams routine or something and he thinks that they still have all the confidence in the world, but they just gotta play better defense. Then they punt to Lou Holtz and he basically says our defense is not as tough as they were when he was at arkansas. He also said texas has been dominating recruiting the past few years and that we don't have the talent on the D. That's some BS if you ask me, well about the recruiting. If I were coach Fran i would let the D watch that clip of holtz saying that "when you used to come to college station you better button up your chin strap and bring your lunch b/c it was gonna be a full days worth of them knocking the heck out of you." I would make them watch that and then say is that what you want people saying about you, you have a decisoin to make, let em say that or prove em wrong, now go out there and BEAT THE EVER LIVING HELL OUTTA cu! Then holtz says something to the effect of this game in colorado is gonna be a huge test. I think it will be, but i think the team gets it together and wins by a farely decent margin. :gig:

I kinda of have the same feeling. Maybe its just my maroon colored glasses, but I think that the last couple of weeks were just bad weeks and not an indication of how good or bad a team we really are. We'll go out on Saturda and beat Colorado by double digits. Then, all the media that will have fallen off of the t.u. bandwagon after their upset by OU, will jump back on ours.

It could be very bad if we cannot stop the run this weekend. I agree with Holtz, people used to fear coming to Kyle because of the defense and the fans. I think the fans are still doing okay but our defense could barely stop our non-conf opponents. This weekend could be a very important game for the rest of the season. If we come out swinging it could be the start of the team turning it around. If not, we might better be ready for somewhere around a 6-5 or possibly a 5-6 season, including 3 losses in November. I hope not so these boys need to get their heads in the game EARLY!

I went into the Clemson game thinking there was no chance in Hell that we would lose. I have a bad feeling about CU, but I hope I'm wrong.

Here is what I am still hoping.
Everything up to this point has been vanilla, and we are only doing enough to win.
Clemson was failed of course.
it begins this week.... we must start showing everything we've got.
I am no football person, but even I know of plays that are normal that we haven't run, both on O and on D.

Loftin: Everyone was confident going into the Clemson game, but in all reality, we did not play well. And still should have won. I don't think we have played well for 60 minutes yet this season. When it comes together look out.

The guy is right about everything except us having the talent. We have some talent on our defense, it's just getting them to play up to their potential.

I am definitely for the coaches showing that clip. They need some motivation, they need the coaches to challenge them, and to make them feel like they have something to prove and to fight for.
