Overall was just put up Pinche, you are withing striking distance for the midseason. Lets see if you are cool under pressure and can take over the top spot. Tough going though, Yeah, Cru, Sarge and a few others have been very consistent. :D

It is up at the top JohnL :) , it will always be at the top as a "Sticky". Thread title is "overall standing as of week 2" Sorry I can't get rid of that week 2 in the title. Give me a second and I will post the link here. :D

OK thanks. I guess I will have to start to pay attention then. :)
Edit: You know I saw that but did not notice the post title had changed. Maybe you should remove the (Week 2) from the thread title.

John, you think we can beat the Eagles on Sunday? My wife is a huge Cowboy fan, she screams and yells at the TV. I'm hoping McNabb's injury starts to affect his play a bit. I was going to ask also, is it just me or do you wish they would play that undrafted rook, a little more. His name escapes me right now, but he is a RB and returns KO's, kid looks like he has skills, I understand his blocking isn't up to par yet, but he chews up yardage on every carry. So far I've been pretty happy with Bledsoe, I think he is playing with something to prove, heck of a lot better than what we've had recently. :gig:

I hear you on the week 2 :) , I just can't figure out how to edit it out. I edited the post and changed the title but it doesn't change. If you click the thread, look at the title, it says updated as of week 4, but it won't change the original title. I will ask Vly.

I already like your wife. :) I'm a huge Cowboy fan as well, but to ask if I think or hope they beat the Eagles are two different things.
Realistically the Eagles have a much more coherent team in that have been together for a long time and have has a lot of success the last 5 or 6 years.
The rookie, Marion Barber? This from an article:
Jones, though, suffered a minor injury that forced him to the sideline for a play. The Cowboys replaced him with Barber, who had a problem during training camp bouncing too many plays outside instead of hitting the prescribed hole.
So on second-and-one Barber looked as if he could have gained the necessary yard if he had continued running off tackle. But he bounced out wide, and was stopped for no gain.
"We ran an inside play that we coached 'no cuts' on this play," Cowboys head coach Bill Parcells said. "Do not make any cuts. We're going for the first down and he tries to bounce it outside. We've been running that play since about the third day of camp just for those second-and- short situations. He should have known better on that one."
This was his first and second carry, so your wife's impression of him may have come from pre-season games where all the players after the first quarter are trying to make the team, so it is very deceiving, both offensively and defensively.
It is my understanding that on Bill P.'s teams you do what you are told. So we shall see if he can get his head right and stay on this team.
His Kickoff return yardage is 19.3 not bad, but not a world beater either.
Now do I hope they will win? Of course. Do I think they can win? I think that as soon as the Parcells mystique sets in they do have the talent to do so. Are they there yet? I don't think so. Do I think they will win? Sorry to say no, but that won't stop me from rooting and "screaming and yelling at the TV"!

John, Barber is not the rook I'm talking about. The kid I'm talking about is from San Diego State, I think, he went undrafted. I think his name is something like Tyson Thompson or something like that. He is fast, and a home run hitter type back, you know the kind that can take it to the house evertime they touch it. From what I have seen so far, I hope he gets his blocking technique down, because too be honest, when he is in the game there is not much if any drop down in comparison to when J.Jones is in the game. I will find his name and report back but it isn't barber of that I'm sure.

Okay I checked it out, the rookie we were talking about is Tyson Thompson, #28, from San Jose State. Played only one year at SJS, the other two were at some community college. Every time I see this kid in there, he is ripping 5-6 yrd/carry. I thought this sunday the O moved better when he was in there, but his blocking needs a lot of work.

I do recall reading about him, but alas, down here is South Florida with Tampa Bay, Miami, and Jacksonville, it seems like there are absolutely no slots for the networks to slip in a cowboy game. The bottom line is I have not seen him play, but if he is the barn burner you say he is, I trust Bill P. to root him out.
Like him or not, Bill has taken 3 teams and made them into contenders, so if the kid is ready expect him to contribute.
I do like Bledsoe and the receivers, but something is just not right yet. I am limited to watching them on Game tracker of Yahoo or espn, then reading articles later. But with 3 pro bowlers and a couple of touted rookies on the offensive line you would think the Cowboys could establish a decent running threat. But they have not. And I don't care who you are, in the NFL, if you can not run, passing is just that more difficult.
I'm sure they will get it right and rip off a bunch of wins and make the playoffs, but it had better be soon, or I'm eating crow. I do not like the taste of crow. (I've had to eat it before living in the SF bay area and having to deal with 49'er fans. Several years ago, not the present debacle that is the 49'ers.)
Come on Cowboys!!. (I pick them on the pick'ems every time in any case. There is no solace when they lose and I get a correct pick)

This is how big a fan Mrs. MdAg is, of course we are in Redskin country so we can't get anything related to the Cowboys, so she drops our local cable, comcast, signs ups for DirectTV and gets the NFL Sunday Ticket, so I can watch all NFL games, but I normally just watch the Texans and the Cowboys. I didn't complain about the DirecTV because we got the sports pack, so I get Fox Sport South West and can watch my Aggies play. Heck I can even see Texas High School recaps here in MD on Friday nights :gig: Mrs. MdAg made it clear that no matter where we live she is not missing her Cowboys games, God I love that woman. :D
