For the boxing fans on the board, I'm a huge boxing fan, this saturday is a rematch fight between Diego Corrales and Jose Luis Castillo. This should be a good one, the first fight was an epic, perhaps the best fight in the last 20-30 years, think Rocky, these guys were just going at it with absolutely no quit, loved it. On the undercard is another fight between a fighter name Jose Arce and Hussein Hussein, this is also a rematch. The first fight was a thriller, Arce had a gash this size of a crater on the bridge of his nose, and he was pleading with the ref not to stop the fight, blood flowing like a river, he went on to win the fight. So for the true boxing fans, which I believe now at days there are very few, this should be an awesome card.

I decided that unless the fighters are Mexican, i don't watch, because it usually sucks.

These guys sound like their Mexican so i'm in

As long as it doesn't get in the way of the Aggie game & its not on PPV then I'm in. However, best fight in the last 20-30 years?? I find that hard to believe. Granted, I didn't see it, but I don't see anything topping Gatti/Ward 1, 2, or 3...I could watch all 3 of those fights everyday for a decade & never get bored.

No PPV = No (significant) Boxing

Best fight of last 20-30 years? Jones-Tarver II, any Tyson fight between 1985 and his prison sentence, Foreman winning the heavyweight title, Lennox Lewis getting a lucky stop by the ref when Klitschko(sp?) was beating him; those are the fights that stick to my mind.

there is none better than Gatti/Ward & the first two of those weren't PPV & they were significant. If it is on PPV, I'll let Pinche watch it, & then he can tell me if it was all it was cracked up to be...and if so then I'll watch the following week when they air it on HBO or Showtime.

Fight is PPV, as most of them are now at days. However, I think HBO replays these things a week later. I am a huge boxing fan, and have been following the sport for a very long time. My wife thinks I'm nuts because I watch Friday Night Fights on ESPN2 and Tuesday Night Fights when they had them on USA Network, and I will watch the fights on the spanish channels. I love the sport, and at its highest level the strategy and chess match that goes on. The Tarver/Jones fight was a decent fight, especially given Tarvers comments at the beginning, but I have seen way better fights, but that is just my opinion. The Ghatti/Ward fights were epics, especially the first one. However, I would say the first fight between Corrales/Castillo was better. Two men laying it all on the line, bomb after bomb after bomb, grit and determination on both sides. Some argued that it was the fight of the century, I don't know that I would say that, but it was a damn good fight, from someone that has followed boxing for about 30 years. My only concern is that the second fight is rarely as good as the first fight, but we shall see.
