He needs to come to A&M to continue our new Mc QB tradition. McNeal, McGee, McCoy, etc...

These kids all have aspirations of playing on Sundays, of course only a very select few will ever make it, but at 17-18 years old, they believe they are the next Brett Farve or Tom Brady. These kids read, and keep up with the rumors. The sips did Applewhite wrong, that kid was a baller, and had the will to win, not the best talent, but he had "it", along comes Simms, and he is riding the pine in the NFL, and if I'm not mistaken he either directly said it or insinuated that he had been very ill prepared at tu, not well coached etc. Along comes VY, and he is viewed by many as a wide receiver propspect for the NFL, although personally, I think the jury is still out on this. But this is what the kids read, and of course they steer clear. I do think that the sips will land a big time QB, because of the program reputation, and as much as it pains me to admit it tu is recognized nationally, but no doubt they are having problems.

Go figure, I went to hornfans to see their thoughts on this. One guy says they weren't persuing him that much and another doesn't even think they offered him a scholarship. Yeah, right.

we might not be pursuing him that hard. I know we still want Snead, and a few others have expressed interest including the #2 from arkansas

Yeah MD, I like the point on Applewhite at tu, I also thought he had a shot with any pro team, but Simms kinda took over and they forgot about him.

I actually liked applewhite, there was just somehting about the way he played and he seemed like a real good guy. I know, at t.u. you wouldn't expect that. But really, I'm disappointed he didn't get the success he deserved. Simms is whoreable.

Hah, Applewhite acted like a nice guy, a real class act, coming from tu.

The only two times I have ever rooted for t.u. were the 2nd half of the Big 12 Championship game (after Simms blew it against Colorado) and the holiday bowl the same year (when Appelwhite started).
