he has a pretty damn good arm but he wont last in conference if he keeps taking hits like he is.

he's talented, but I don't think he is the next big thing. maybe comparable to josh freeman, but no vince young or reggie. Also, his receivers are HORRIBLE.

Maybe Gaylor can bring in Fran to show them how to run the zone read option. They fumbled on that play twice.

Reminds me of some of the comments regarding McGee his first year.

McGee is tougher & wasn't nor has he ever been concerned about being "pretty"... Griffin also is a Pat White wanna be, with FAR LESS speed.

Trust me, I wasn't trying to compare the two. This thread just made me think of the comments people were throwing around when McGee started running the option.

Sorry but I was not impressed with this kid at all. He made a "couple" of decent throws and made 1 good run but that was about it.

True.... But you gotta remember McGee's 1st real game was against tu & he took that MASSIVE shot from 3 sips at once...
Yeah he had been in other games, but that was the 1st full one & of course had he continued to take more shots like that, it could have been bad, but he has taken some, but not as many as people thought...

Briles is over-rated as a coach. And he won't be successful at Gaylor running the option, as Gaylor has a crush on tceh and wants to be just like tceh when they grow up, and won't settle for anything but the spread, even if it it kills them. They think the spread is the future and are obsessed with it, apparently at the AD level.
We all know the spread is about to be figured out (or recently has been) but shhhh don't tell Gaylor. Ignorance is bliss.
