A showdown of Port Arthur running backs could be on the Texas-Texas A&M horizon, if things work out academically for Memorial ex James Johnson. Johnson, a pre-season junior college All-America at Blinn College, rushed for 485 yards and scored 11 touchdowns on only 31 carries in his first three games this season. That's after rushing for 1,400 yards, scoring 21 TDs and being named Southwest Junior College Player of the Year in 2004. The new coach at Blinn is Aggie boss Dennis Franchione's son, Brad, and Brad has already given dad an earful about what a talent Johnson is. "James could play for anybody," says Brad. Johnson, who must graduate in May to be eligible to play in Division 1, says A&M is his where he wants to play. He also says he keeps up with everything former Memorial teammate Jamaal Charles is doing at Texas and would love to go against him and the Longhorns in 2006
If he typed that right 31 carries for 485 is insane :gig:
